Nick Cave - where to start?

Yes. He's playing Manchester Arena which is a shame. I'd go to the Apollo, which is where I saw him last time.

We saw him at the Apollo too a few years ago. Not sure about the Arena either but have tickets for Monday.

I think that's exactly the same as what he played last night. They started late though, as it took ages to get everyone into the venue, security at Manchester Arena being extremely tight for entirely understandable reasons.

Despite it being a crap aircraft hangar of a venue, it was a fantastic gig, and the sound was surprisingly good for an arena.

The only bum note of the evening was a gobby fishwife having a barney with two security staff a couple of yards away from us all the way through the quietest song of the night, an otherwise beautiful rendition of Into My Arms. A couple of minutes into her tirade people started shouting "shut the fuck up", and as she was eventually led out of the venue a woman behind us told her to "fuck off you stupid inconsiderate bitch". Which was fair enough. I'd have happily seen her tasered.

I've gone to pretty much every Cave tour since about 2001, but I just can't stomach this one - which is a bit of a shame since Skeleton Tree is really his best material since No More, but for the time being I'll happily preserve the image of him walking on top of the crowd, Iggy-like, in Barcelona the last time I saw him just before his son passed away.

Yes, that was good, and for Nick to have stopped the gig while the first aiders got to the person in trouble.

Same thing happened at The National's gig at the Apollo, last Friday night. Someone went down near the front, fainting or heat exhaustion, something like that. Matt Berninger stopped the song they were doing and they put the lights up while they were attended to. Then they started the song again.

It happened at a Savages gig we attended last year too. It's a good thing to see, the awareness of people in distress and doing something about it immediately.

Glasgow tonight. Not overjoyed he is playing the huge Hydro but i expect he will make it seem like The Barrowland. The Bad Seeds gig there on the Push The Sky Away tour was quite phenomenal!

Been going to see Nick Cave since Tender Prey tour at Glasgow Pavilion in 1988 (when he lost his voice after the 2nd song but carried on anyway), and even after the seemingly unsurpassable, incendiary Barrowland gig in 2013, i have to say last night was one of or possibly even theeee greatest live performance i have seen by any artist in 34yrs of gig going. I can't believe they managed to make the huge Hydro seem like a small club. He went way out into the crowd during The Weeping Song encore and then brought about 50 people onstage with him for Stagger Lee, left them there went away back out into the crowd for the rest of the song and the closing 'Push The Sky Away. Unbelievable. Jubilee Street again almost tore the roof off, maybe even topped the Barras gig when they did that. Warren's heartbreaking violin solo at the end of Distant Sky.'Too many incredible moments to even think about. My wife even said he was better then Morrissey and my wife never ever ever says anyone is better than Morrissey.

I do thInk this tour was a very special tour because of the terrible and tragic loss of his son. People really have poured out so much love for Nick. You could feel it in the air coming from the audience. It was very emotional.

The video of Distant Sky was so beautiful. You could have heard a pin drop.
