I don't even have all three of those religious albums. Did he really do a song called "Ain't Gonna Go to Hell for Anybody?"

Pass. I heard a boot from this period once that was unbearable. Dylan was hardly even on it, just this gospel choir going at it.

Presumably they'll have curated this set to exclude such dross, but it left a not-that-great taste in my mouth. Besides, there's so much other stuff of his I have to catch up on.

Can't be worse than "Man Gave Names to All the Animals". The Nobel committee should demand their prize back.

"He saw an animal up on a hill
Chewing up so much grass until she was filled.
He saw milk comin' out but he didn't know how.
"Ah, think I'll call it a cow.""
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

Holy shit. What a bummer.

At the very least, if you are going to scrape the bottom of the Bob barrel, why not shows from 1983 with Mick Taylor and Ian McLagan? Or even shows from the late-90's that were comparatively adventurous and rejuvenating? Or why not more Rolling Thunder recordings?!

I'm really curious if even the most hardcore of fans were asking for this.

SOLD!

I was unsure if it was worth it, but there is absolutely no better gauge for music than an endorsement from Coan.

Now I know it'll be worth every penny!!!

Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

This is a period that has yet to be documented/analysed "properly". The 2CD set is enough for me. All of the volumes so far have been worthy.

Apparently the 2 disc set is just live songs between '79 and '81.

You'll miss out on 2 discs of 'rare and unreleased' including 12 new songs.

I presume the new songs are crap, most of them were. Although Dylan is not always the best judge of his own material - witness "Blind Willie McTell" not getting an official release for years, for example.

2-disc is fine for me - I get all of these, but can't deny this is the one that interests me least (so far, anyway).

Bit disappointing.......only live, no studio recordings? Thats the issue for me.I bought the 6cd versions of the last 3, all were superb but this is not so essential. I may still get pulled in to getting the big set but if not 2cd will do and will get a download of the rest later on.
