Hounds of Love and the last two for me. As much as I love her earlier stuff it's too inconsistent for my liking.

1,4,5.

The Kick Inside is one of the truly great debut albums.

The second side of The Dreaming is stunning and I include it purely for that.

All of Aerial is magnificent but the second disc is utterly sublime. Seeing it live three years back was something I shall never forget.

Next two would be Never For Ever & Hounds Of Love.

Aerial, Hounds of Love and The Kick Inside for me. I was a bit torn between The Kick Inside and The Dreaming, but The Kick Inside as a song in itself just edged it.

Hounds of Love
The Sensual World
The Dreaming

Surprised at the lack of love for The Sensual World.

I think it has a couple of great, great tracks but isn't consistently good enough to match anything else that I chose above it.

Never for Ever
The Dreaming
probably The Kick Inside, though if Aerial is as good as people say, I should listen to that one before I decide

Me too.
I really love Fifty Words, and Aerial is almost perfect.
The live album is excellent too.

The Kick Inside
Lionheart
The Dreaming

I'm still working on loving Aerial.

I couldn't get into the second side of Hounds Of Love when it was released. However, Before The Dawn has really given me another crack at it and I love that it brings it to life for me.

It’s 3 from 5 for me:
The Kick Inside
Never Forever
The Dreaming
Hounds of Love
Aerial

I’ll have to think......

I think the poll is fundamentally flawed and conceptually misguided :D

Asking me to list my three favourite albums by Kate Bush would be like asking me to chose my three favourite children (assuming I had 9 plus a re-mastered and re-arranged child not on the list).

Rather than listing three of the best or favourites (which doesn’t make any sense to me) I’d rather share which Kate Bush albums and songs I’m currently listening to and why or even when and how. But then the thread would have to go on until the day I die.

But for now... it’s all mainly about Aerial. I like to listen to Aerial when I’m walking in the park or in the bath or lying in bed when I’m tied. I find every song and the whole album deeply calming and relaxing. It makes me feel closer to nature... and closer to myself. It’s like a meditation. It helps me live only in the present.

The Dreaming, The Kick Inside and Never Forever, in that order.

Sensual World and Lionheart follow very close behind.

I never liked side one of Hounds of Love much (apart from Cloudbursting). And I'm still waiting for Aerial to click.

Go out for a walk by yourself to a park or somewhere in nature... a beach, a cliff top, a forest... make sure the weather is windy, dull, overcast or raining or maybe just still. Not a sunny bright day. Listen to Aerial. It will click. Or take it on a solitary train ride, sit back in a window seat and watch the countryside whizzing past as you drift off in it. Perfect.
