Punk, really? With all those horns? And the lyric sucks too. A guy is in jail for "killing a queen." He's probably on acid...

Exactly, how much more fucked up can you get. It's one of the great 60s psycho songs.

I'm firmly in the Quaco camp re: "Space Odyssey".

But I'm sure I'm still the only one here who, if forced to pick one, would drop "Goin' Back"...

NO! Goin Back is perfect.

Musically, it is sublime; I just don't believe that guys as smart and cynical as McGuinn and Hillman would buy into that dopey sentiment for a second. I have a hard enough time accepting it from Dusty Springfield!

So singers have to buy totally into every idea in the songs they perform?

Better stay away from Randy Newman, then.

Nah, she borrowed it from Goldie Zelkowitz

Artificial Energy and Goin' Back are two of the very best things on a wonderful record.

Novelty white soul. I'm honestly surprised anyone thinks it's anything noteworthy.

It's probably my fave Byrds' track.

But then I'm not a huge fan - all that twinkling harmonic stuff does very little for me.

The 1969 riff in Tribal Gathering was a jaw-dropper when I first heard it.

Digging into "Requiem for The Timeless Volume 2", The Byrds family tree still leaves (he!) all others in the shade.
It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

To be fair, I could see it being a pretty fun song for a live performance.
