But I'm sure I'm still the only one here who, if forced to pick one, would drop "Goin' Back"...

Musically, it is sublime; I just don't believe that guys as smart and cynical as McGuinn and Hillman would buy into that dopey sentiment for a second. I have a hard enough time accepting it from Dusty Springfield!

It's probably my fave Byrds' track.

But then I'm not a huge fan - all that twinkling harmonic stuff does very little for me.

The 1969 riff in Tribal Gathering was a jaw-dropper when I first heard it.

Digging into "Requiem for The Timeless Volume 2", The Byrds family tree still leaves (he!) all others in the shade.
