Building on reporting from the Financial Times, the piece lays out a pretty plausible argument for Trump simply being a stooge for these Russian oligarchs who needed money laundering services after U.S. banking regulations were tightened in the early 00s. Solution? Real estate!

That's pretty amazing. I wonder how much of it Jimbo will read before angrily dismissing it?

That article is a HELL of a read.
Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

Re: President Donald J. Trump
Also of note, now that we know about the pre-dawn FBI raid of Manafort's house last month, is a re-examination of Trump's tweets later the same day excoriating Sessions for not having dismissed McCabe, who was the acting director of the Bureau at the time.
More obstruction? Well, the tweets did come after the raid, but it's an interesting fact pattern, if nothing else. Certainly some bad "optics" there anyway.

It was. And I am more than ever convinced by the evidences therein that Trump is a crook. I have been saying all along that in his "deals" where we'll find criminality. But to make the not hacked but leaked email story the crux of the case against Trump is a ridiculous distraction and covers up his serious crimes. https://consortiumnews.com/2017/08/10/t ... challenged

If they wuz robbed then everything is hunky-dory. De-corporotizing politics become a pipe dream like single payer.
They can't WAIT. to get back to business as usual. I think they're going to be sorely disappointed.

Note how often that long Trump/Russians collusion report mentioned those "damn emails." That HRC and co. would blame their loss on a dumb lie that could spark a world war is mind boggling childish and stupid. What those emails showed was how HRC cheated and screwed the only guy who could beat Trump and get the US single payer medicine. Yes, Trump is horrid but so is Hillary. SHE is the reason Trump is in the White House now.

The e-mails show that she "played politics." I am not defending that on any level, but it's still utter bullshit that Bernie was screwed out of the nomination. It's also bullshit that he could have beaten Trump. (Yes, that last sentence is an opinion. But a strongly-held one.)

Once in the main body of that long, long report, and once again in the timeline at the end. Not even enough to warrant using the word "often."

As mind boggling as you still calling this a "dumb lie"?

A thousand times dumb! That those emails would be the way for Putin to make Hillary look bad when there are websites, books, movies, right wing and progressive pundits and podcasters absolutely laden with cargo containers of Hillary's baggage why would Putin, not to mention the rest of RUSSIA! focus on releasing provable and truthful DNC dirt as a boon to help Trump win. The email info is so insignificant logic alone says it was probably a disgruntled DNC worker who leaked the info. But noooo,,,, HRC had to make the emails and Putin's supposed theft of them the issue. Dumb X 1000 = Trump victory.

Which, the "I love it!' email? If so that is, as the article explains about shady business deals, not dumb, political, stupidly corrupt actions by Debbie Wasserman Shultz and Donna Brazil.

Shady business deals that would come to nothing if HRC won the election. As the article explains...
The purpose of the Trump Tower meeting was spelled out in the emails Donald Trump Jr. received before the meeting was scheduled. Trump’s Russian partners—in a hierarchy that went straight up to Putin—were anxious to provide him ammunition to use against Hillary Clinton. They did so in hopes of destroying the sanctions under the Magnitsky Act, restoring the easy flow of money that all of them, including Trump, had enjoyed for so long.
C'mon, Jimbo - you love a good conspiracy - why are you not embracing this one? Too much conspiracy/not enough "theory" for you?

Seeing this bit again gives me pause. The "straight up to Putin" jibe strikes me as gratuitous. That they were there under the guise to offer new dirt on Clinton and Jr. accepting the meeting is reasonable. But if the dirt was that Donna Brazil knew the debate questions in advance when all candidate Trump had to do was unload on the 1000 times more salacious and ubiquitous evidence of Clinton Foundation skullduggery, then it is most reasonable to assume the meeting was a plea to have the sanctions lifted.
Charley, my beef now is with the Democrats who are ready to make war over Russia supposedly "hacking of our democracy" when that is one, unproven and two, tiny potatoes compared to the hyper-mafia goings on between Trump and those gangsters.

Jimbo - it's not a jibe, and it isn't gratuitous. The hierarchy does go straight up to Putin. I don't see how it could be much plainer.
Jimbo wrote:... then it is most reasonable to assume the meeting was a plea to have the sanctions lifted.
Yes... by whom? Remember, everybody at this point thought HRC was a shoo-in. Was she going to lift the sanctions? They wanted Trump in so that HE would lift the sanctions (which, remember, were directly affecting HIS wallet too).

It is rapidly being proven.

If it's the same meal then then "hacking" must be something smothered in red white and blue treacle from the kids menu. Our poor democracy. Think of the children!
And if Putin's Russia is shown to be a corrupt gangster-ocracy what does that make the USA, the mark of marks? No, the USA is complicit and corrupt as hell and Trump is the logical choice of a nation where greed and avarice is an attribute. Had the Dems pushed the most honorable and popular candidate instead of baggage laden HRC Trump would likely be poof!
