It's terrific. Lives up to the hype. Who would have expected this kind of album from Perrett at this stage of his career?

Re: Peter Perrett Solo album June 30
My copy finally arrived and has been on what the radio stations used to call 'heavy rotation' ever since. As most other posters have pointed out above, a terrific record with barely an ounce of fat. Would love to go and see one of the shows he's doing in the UK in Oct/Nov, but doesn't look as if he'll be heading to Dublin.
Given the 30-odd years, PP lost to various addictions, hope that this isn't a repeat of the Warren Zevon syndrome where an artist makes wonderful records at the start and end of his/her career before somehow either losing their way or their audience somewhere in between.

Can't argue with that. Been getting played pretty much every day since I got it last week. Was in two minds whether to fly over to the UK to see one of the three or four gigs PP is doing, but they're all sold out.Hope PP"s health holds out and he'll do a few more shows early next year including one in Dublin

I agree the first track is sub-par Dave. My enthusiasm for all things Perrett got the better of me. I listened to it again on the way into work this morning and I struggled to get past An Epic Story, its a thing of real beauty.
It just sounds like The Lightning Seeds to me..not a good thing.

US Shows were canceled! Apparently he had trouble securing a visa - imagine someone whose two lines of work have been rock star and drug dealer having visa problems! - but he's hopeful it can be sorted out before the year's up. So you'll get him before we will - starting in London on my birthday. I imagine more UK shows will be added.
May 04 = Islington Assembly Hall - London, United Kingdom
Jun 01- Paloma Nimes, France
Jun 02 Primavera Barcelona, Spain
