I went with "Dirty Water", "Night Time", "Don't Look Back" (a record I didn't like much at all for a long time), "Open My Eyes" and (after much deliberation) "Farmer John".

Why does 'Liar, Liar' have so few votes?

I came here to post just that.
and 'Lies' has three times as many.
'Psychotic Reaction' and 'Liar Liar' are way out in front of anything else for me, from this list.
I'm a big Elevators' fan but that one is a bit too 'standard', if you get me. Got my vote, tho', along with The Seeds and The Nazz.

Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

Impeccably curated, isn't it?

Truly.
That said, having come to that particular vein of solid gold magic in the late 1980s (end of my teen years), I first collected this music through a series of Rhino single LP editions (Punk part III, Pop part I, etc.) as well as the - by then - proliferate Pebbles, Rubble, Highs of the Mid 60s, Back From the Grave, etc.
When Rhino put out the 4cd box in 1998, I went nuts for that, and it has taken me years to sort of develop a reliable sense memory of what actually derives from the original 2 LP collection. I keep thinking the likes of "Journey To the Center of the Mind" or 'Incense and Peppermints" will pop up, and even scrolled this poll for a title or two that clearly isn't part of the program.
Did anyone else compile their own cassettes of this stuff back in the cassette era? I had a GOOD one, that I would kill to find a track-listing for today.

YES - I remember taking a C-90 to Germany with me in 1990 (when I was studying there for six months), made up of tracks from a couple of those Rhino LPs you mention, as well as some Best of Pebbles LP (artwork by Rudi Protrudi). The thing got worn out.

You're crazy. "Pushin' Too Hard" could be the ultimate garage rock song!!
And the more I think about it, the Seeds could be the ultimate garage rock band.

Mr Farmer for me.
It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

All good (not to mention better songs than those), but none as good as "Pushin' Too Hard."

Oh, it'll win a poll for sure.
Like Abbey Road got 'best Beatles album' a while back.
Whatever.

Of course it would win.
