I like Quorn. My eldest girl has been a vegetarian for about a year now, and we've tried these quite a bit, and i'll happily eat it. But, you know, I ain't no connorsewer.

It's entirely possible to cook delicious vegetarian meals without some sort of ludicrous meat substitute. Therefore I see no reason for its existence.

Try it in Hong Kong mate, and for a young teen at that. It's not always so simple.

I recently had to go vegetarian for 3 weeks while trekking in Nepal and while the food was perfectly good (usually either a bowl of Sherpa Stew or Dahl Bat with curried potato and rice.....no quorn) I must admit I was craving meat so bad by the end of the trip I was dreaming of roast chickens and juicy burgers. I could never be vegetarian.
A few months ago I ate a quorn salad made by a friend of mine and it was tasty I must admit. I do love tofu.

It's just another option. Very nutritious, and takes on flavours such as garlic readily. The texture is the thing though- I appreciate having something relatively succulent and chewy. Lentils and beans don't really tick that box.
20 odd years ago when Quorn burgers first appeared it was a blessing.
The proliferation of meat-free food since then has made being vegetarian a lot easier, though now I would call myself a flexatarian( cool neologism I learned on the BBC website today).

I don't mind it. Slow-cooked pulled-quorn doesn't go down so well though.
