Very poor song, with a stupid vocal.

It amazes me the thought behind lyrics/titles like this. It's such a wide-open, general kind of thing. It's like "of love" titles -- "Sound of Love", "Motor of Love" -- unless these are double entendres, they're so general as to be meaningless. Same with "Emotional Rescue". The other stupid one is "Mental Hopscotch". Just putting an adjective with an unrelated noun doesn't automatically create an interesting concept.

Love it. Probably the best post-Brian Stones song. Shame it doesn't really represent the LP. Really though, if Jagger had made a solo disco record around this, it'd've been a classic. He split the band a good half decade too late.

He hung on too long while keef was a junkie. Should have made a solo disco album after Some Girls and gone on from there.

No one really needed to have Tattoo You, Undercover or Dirty Work inflicted on them. To say nothing of the reheated dreck they've delivered since.

So when did he split the band?

I thought he (unofficially) did so in the early-mid 80s when he made his first couple of solo records. That was the impression I had anyway.

That point where disco moved uptown and became louchely decadent, all satin and cocaine, that really suited the late seventies Stones to a t. It's the last time Jagger would sound contemporary. I love it, but I wonder what Keith thought of it all, his guitar is barely on it.
