Elton John - first rate 70s radio pop
Michael Oldfield - skilled arranger
Weather Report - lotta notes
Cocksparrer - Oi!
Mekons - I like the idea of a punk single called "Never Been In A Riot"
Divinyls - had their moments
Willie Nelson - a benevolent presence
Pussy Galore - not always but sometimes
Sisters of Mercy - someone played the album with "This Corrosion" on it and said they were a "parody" of goth like the Dukes of Stratosphear. I liked it on that basis.
Nina Hagen - never got into her
Kim Carnes - only know the hit which is pretty good
Joan Armatrading - need more study but I generally like what I've heard
INXS - first rate 80s radio pop
Foghat - harmless boogie without the woogie
White Denim - stains easily

Love this! Absolutely agree.

Sadly INXS dispensed with the bit at the start of their career when they might have been good though. They arrived fully formed and crap.
I've been talking about writing a book - 25 years of TEFL - for a few years now. I've got it in me.

Listen Like Thieves, too. And Mystify. And half a dozen others.

Only arseholes who think Nick Cave is 'real music' fail to see the colour there.

Rubbish, Deebank. The only thing this shows is that you've heard very little INXS.

I can live with that. They made quite a few great pop songs in the '80s, though - your loss.

Elton John - in agreement with HenryValentine. Did like his recent duet with Kate Bush on 50 Words for Snow though.
Michael Oldfield - Ommadawn is great, don't care for the rest of his albums. As a contributor/sessionist he was also great, though.
Weather Report - used to like them more in my teen days, haven't touched a record of theirs in years and don't feel the need to.
Cocksparrer - haven't heard, but intrigued.
Mekons - haven't heard, but also intrigued.
Divinyls - haven't heard, not intrigued.
Willie Nelson - pretty good, one of the few country musicians I like.
Pussy Galore - ehh... I prefer Blues Explosion.
Sisters of Mercy - cannot comment on their recent work as I haven't heard it, but I agree with Fish on their earlier stuff.
Nina Hagen - not a fan.
Kim Carnes - not a fan.
Joan Armatrading - haven't heard, but intrigued.
INXS - not a fan.
Foghat - not a fan.
White Denim - haven't heard, not intrigued.

I'm not, I'm afraid, though I still have him as a friend on RYM. Just brought that up because I thought pcq would appreciate the reference. :D

Oh yeah, he hates Elton, doesn't he? I still have him as a FB friend. Or have him as a FB friend again, actually.

Cocksparrer - haven't heard, but intrigued.

Shock Troops, dude.

White Denim - haven't heard, not intrigued.

You might enjoy their proggier jams.

Pretty much. :) Would be nice to have him around, I think I sent him a PM on IMDb about the place but he never did end up coming.

Elton John - a few good songs. He's okay.

Michael Oldfield - I only know the Exorcist theme so I can't really judge him.

Weather Report - Not familiar with their music.

Cocksparrer - Lots of fun. Sort of a Oi! Slade.

Mekons - Terrific for the most part.

Divinyls - They were alright.

Willie Nelson - Great songwriter.

Pussy Galore - The best act on here.

Sisters of Mercy - Meh. Never understood the fuss.

Nina Hagen - her early work was fantastic.

Kim Carnes - Nah.

Joan Armatrading - Double nah.

INXS - Forgettable.

Foghat - Terrible.

White Denim- Don't know much about them.
