Re: John Coan's SHIT OR HIT 4
Hate the fucking thing. The groove's not even interesting, which is almost unheard of for the Stones - they usually at least have that much going for them. And I really want to smack Jagger all through it, but particularly during the 'spoken' bit.
No excuse for this at all. A steaming pile.

Always hated it, but I don't mind it now. Maybe since worse things have happened since, both by them and everyone else.

I don't mind it at all, but I don't have to hear it again either.

Love it. They haven't started "trying to sound like the Rolling Stones" yet, for one thing.
Unusual production/arrangement for them or anyone - and both Jagger's falsetto AND the ridiculous intonation are perhaps a last glance at the sort of "Jesus, that guy really does not give a FUCK!" Jagger that I, personally, adore.

I clicked to play the video and it isn't available in my country and I didn't care. That must say something. It doesn't really ever go anywhere, does it? If it was some no name band it would have disappearred without a trace. But it's far from the worst thing they ever did. That might make it a hit.

Love it. It soundtracked a holiday for me when it was new. I particularly like the little piano bits in the background.

I've never heard it before, but it's remarkably amusing so far. Bee Gees tribute stuff. And then there's that inoffensive sax, the worst sound that America ever produced. I've heard enough.
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

I clicked to see if it was as bad as I remembered, and no, it was worse. I couldn't stand even one minute of it.

I wouldn't call it a classic but it's fun. It was an unexpected highlight the last time I saw them live.

It's ridiculous, and I have no feeling for it one way or another.

By coincidence I just listened to this on my stereo.
It's rubbish compared to 'the good stuff'. Filler on a greatest hits comp
