It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

I won't count solo/offshoot albums, but will count (official) live albums...
Flip Your Wig
Zen Arcade
Warehouse (which I disliked when it came out)
Everything Falls Apart
The Living End
New Day Rising (would rank substantially higher if only it sounded better)
Metal Circus
Land Speed Record
Candy Apple Grey

Flip Your Wig
Warehouse Songs & Stories - took me years to love it, now I do.
Metal Circus
New Day Rising - still love it despite the drums sounding like someone hitting a phone book with pencils and the guitars being recorded in a biscuit tin.
Zen Arcade - must be alone in thinking that it needs a good trim, some songs are crap.
Candy Apple Grey - I think this one gets a bit of a bad rap, yeah it has some duds but I wallowed in its misery when I were a youngster.
The Living End
Land Speed Record
I've never actually heard Everything Falls Apart. I'm pretty fond of their non-album covers like 'Eight Miles High', 'Mary Tyler Moore' theme, and last week I picked up that NME 7" with 'Ticket to Ride' on it (plus rare versions of 'Some Candy Talking' and 'Downtown Train' ... good single).

Nah, I'm with you. Side 4 can go, for a start.

GREAT record. (The fourth song was a live "Drop The Bomb" by Trouble Funk if I remember right.)

Zen Arcade - one of the highest accomplishments in American music
New Day Rising
Flip Your Wig
Metal Circus
Everything Falls Apart
Candy Apple Grey
Warehouse
Land Speed Record
Yeah sure, all double albums "could use a trim" but you don't get one do ya? Side 4 of Zen Arcade is largely superfluous, I don't really listen to it ever. But I like the idea of it... a side-long hippie jam to close out a hardcore album! And considering the non stop fantasticness that is sides one through three, I'll give it a pass. At least the stuff you don't want to hear all the time is at the end.

I have two.
Flip Yer Wig, and Warehouse.
Both excellent.
'Green Eyes' is the best song of these.

On the whole, I'd rather be in Wallenpaupack.

Re: Best to worst studio albums - Husker Du
Numero Group are apparently going to start releasing a series of boxed sets covering the bands early days right up through the SST period. The long awaited fulfilment of years of legal wrangling and negotiation to get control of their back catalogue and the 3 members unified around a comprehensive historical re-issue program. I think the first box is due in November and covers up through the Reflex period. Numero posted a mock up colour variation of the Metal Circus Ep on Twitter a couple of weeks back with the title on the office window changed to Extra Circus saying "what if we told you this was gonna exist?". Interesting times ahead.

I was hoping that Numero had acquired the rights to the Hüsker's SST catalog. Going by that article, I guess not.

No, it seems that was a lot of conjecture. Interesting comments by Keith Morris on the Black Flag reissue situation would point to not much changing either.

That's what I thought, too, being only tangentially following the hype.
Is their pre-SST stuff not pretty much...juvenilia?
Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D
