If it's new to you now, then it's going to sound very limp.
I'd agree with this. I liked the song and movie when I was a kid and while not really my thing these days I can still muster up a nostalgic fondness.

I'm going 'HIT', but I wouldn't speak ill of anyone who thought differently. It's sappy, but Art has a purity that I generally find pretty pleasant to listen to. And it has a context in terms of the film, though it was years ago that I saw it so I can't really say what that does for me personally. I have a vague memory of feeling similarly about the movie - vaguely sappy but not offensively so.

Does anyone remember that 'hilarious' kid singing this on Tiswas?
Forever.
Forever.
I've been talking about writing a book - 25 years of TEFL - for a few years now. I've got it in me.

HIT.
Love it. Still makes me tearful. Had the single and the book and the book of the film. *sob*

Well, Moo of Kintyre beats it, I think, and The Frog Chorus may, but basically, we have found a node of agreement, hatz.
