Re: Everton
Really enjoyed watching today's game. 4-0 over Man. City is simply a fantastic result, and that goal to Lookman was the icing on the cake. On for 5 mins. and scores a cracking little opportunist's goal. Well done, young fella.
City looked like they were fragmented and unfocused pretty much the whole game.

Didn't see the game, but did see the result. Spurs send their thanks.

Re: Everton
Giving credit where it's due.
One of my children visited Liverpool last week, visiting family friends, one of whom was a mascot for the Everton Bournemouth game. Due to an absentee my pupil was invited to join her friend on the tour, met several players who gave signed photos to her - Lukaku & Barry amongst others. She had a large goody bag and has been buzzing all week. I'm friendly with her parents and they spoke to me most warmly about the excellence of the hospitality their daughter was freely given.
Well done Everton.

^^^^ Nice story.
Get your money on Lukaku topping 30 league goals... he's in the shop window now.

Barkley. Still shit, still that type of player. Should have gone. As should Williams.

Re: Everton
Drive by trolling. I'm surprised Everton didn't change things at half time though, they couldn't cope with Liverpool's midfield, and you have to admit Ross was lucky to stay on the pitch. Twice, probably.
Liverpool's defence still looks dodgy, their set piece defending is awful. You could have come away with something with a bit more pressure up front.

We were fucking terrible. Absolutely no excuses and, yes, Barkley was lucky to stay on. Not that we'd have noticed so much had he not been anyway.
Again we simply didn't turn up for a derby match and someone really needs to do a drains up about our prep for these games.

We were useless going forward too. Lukaku stank the place out (again) and the rest were no better. From the very first minute, you sensed we were not at the races and were outplayed from front to back. Piss poor, even allowing for the enforced team selection. Tactically all over the place and the players themselves froze. Again.

Everton boss Ronald Koeman dreams of coaching former club Barcelona, he has told Catalan newspaper Sport.
But the ex-defender, who spent six years at the Spanish club from 1989 to 1995, says he is committed to getting Everton into the Champions League.
Koeman, 54, is in the first season of a three-year contract having arrived from Southampton last summer.
He has been linked with a return to the Nou Camp after Luis Enrique said he was stepping down at the end of the season.
"I feel flattered and I like that they think about me," the Dutchman said.
"Everyone knows I'm Barca, they know my love for the club where I grew up as a player and a person.
"In my life as a professional coach, I have two dreams to fulfil. One, to coach my national team, Holland. I could have done it but my obligation to Everton prevented me. My other wish, my other dream, is to one day coach Barca. That's the truth."
Everton are seventh in the Premier League with three games remaining and look certain to miss out on a Champions League place this year.
"We have a very powerful and exciting project and we're going to strengthen as best as possible to try and reach the Champions League next season," Koeman said.
Asked what he would do if Barca called, he replied: "That's a hypothesis we cannot go into too much. In football, like in life, like in business, you can talk and discuss everything."

You can't blame him if he wants to leave.
Everton could do no worse than Unai Emery, who is going to be sacked by PSG I think.

I can't but interviews like that unfortunately don't really dispel the impression that he sees Everton as a stepping stone to 'another' job.
I really like him as a manager - and as a person actually- but I think giving interviews and expressing desires to manage other clubs (whilst actually still in employment with Everton) is not the best PR exercise.

Well I would have thought that was obvious from the moment he was appointed. I mean, he's Barcelona through and through so if he showed some competence as a manager then it would be inevitable that he'd be linked with the job.

I'm not disputing that.
I'm talking about the wisdom of stating his ambition so boldly in the interview. Who gains from it?

Quite. He can let Barca know quietly behind the scenes, if he really needs to. That said, I do love him and don't hold it against him that much.
Here's another side of it - how does Koeman stand in front of the up and coming players and convince them that the club is going places and they should sign up for the long contract when they know he himself has ambitions elsewhere?
It really doesn't sit well with me at all - even if that is his ambition, keep it to yourself. No one else needs to know it.
There is absolutely no good that can come of it.

So Lukaku knows where he wants to go and is talking to the club.

I wonder if Everton - the club he is contracted to- know this?
