Takes about half a minute to get going, obviously ...

. Got Jimi's autograph after the show and went on to see him several times that year

She had one of the truly great female voices.... that's fabulous. Shame there's quite as much reverb- she certainly didn't need it- but, nonenetheless wonderful.

Marty Balin would disagree.

Re: Grace Slick’s isolated vocals for White Rabbit -- prepare to squirt
I remember reading a review of a Jefferson Airplane biography in an old Mojo magazine, which mentioned how everyone in the band, with the exception of Balin, had slept with Slick. The title of the review, which I found pretty tasteless, was "In 'n' Out of Grace".
Anyway, I've always loved her vocal on that song. Very cool to hear it isolated like that.

Good listen.
Interesting read on the linked site - I've always thought of it as a pro drugs song, not as a dig at children's literature and a call to education.

i enjoyed hearing her use her vibrato towards the end. I could hear it on the completed song as well but it's much easier here obviously. What a voice.

Don't you think it was fighting with the echo a little bit in places?
It certainly sounds better than her vocals on the Great Society version, but as a huge JA fan – possibly the biggest on the board, certainly among the UK contingent – I have to say I prefer it with Jack and Jorma doing their respective things.

Me and Diamond Dog (I think) are fans too ...
It was the teenage drug years for me that did it -- Coming Back to Me on repeat ... mind wiping

Maybe but it's still easier to appreciate every nuance that you sort of heard on the record.
