Anyway, my waffle over - thanks for reminding me about them because I'm playing this again now and it's jolly good. Heavy and psychedelic.
Dungen - Ta Det Lugnt (from 2004)
Yeah, that was the big one. Never had anything to match it, but 'Allas Sak' is certainly worth a listen.
Where would rock 'n' roll be without feedback?

Dropped through the letter box 10 seconds ago.
Cellophane off in the next 10 seconds
I can't wait!
[their last few albums have been superb - better than Hawkwinds 'recent' efforts]

Rock Opera territory which ain't really my bag. Ayreon's Arjen Anthony Lucassen is involved (though not the main man) and it kind of tells.
It's ok though, but doubt I'll get past the first out-of-curiosity listen.

Welsh heavy prog merchants 25 Yard Screamer and their latest album, Keep Sending Signals.
Bit noisy for me at times but it has some pleasant quieter moments and although completely new to me sounds like a band worth looking into.

Could have used a little more mellotron, perhaps.

A very fine record indeed, as are their previous ones.

Popol Vuh (Popol Vuh, later known as Popol Ace, was a 1970s Norwegian progressive rock band from Oslo, that became popular in the 1970s Norwegian rock scene with such songs as "All We Have Is the Past", "Queen of all Queens" and "Music Box".
The band later changed its name to "Popol Ace" to avoid confusion with the German band Popol Vuh.The band's downfall came with the lead singer Jahn Teigen leaving the band for a solo career.)

Pentangle - Finale
Two disc set from the 2008 reunion tour. I've only heard one disc so far but it didn't disappoint. Everyone is on point.

Another one from Conny's countrymen - Hidden Lands - "Lycksalighetens o"
Swedish band with almost identical personnel to jolly decent The Violent Silence.
This is their 2nd album, with largely Swedish vocals / lyrics - there's a 3rd album just being released. On the basis of this one I shall certainly seek that one out. Nice and proggy.
I believe Violent Silence are completely devoid of guitar, this certainly majors on keys but there is a guitar or 2 chucked in.

The Mute Gods - Tardigrades Will Inherit The Earth
Bass and stick maestro Nick Beggs (ex Kajagoogoo) has spent big chunks of time touring with Steve Hackett and Steven Wilson during the last few years but being an energetic and hugely talented geezer has also had time to write and record a couple of albums of his own, with some stellar guest musicians, under the name of The Mute Gods.
This is the 2nd of those, recently released.
Nice songs, intelligent lyrics - somewhat prog light I suppose in the way that later Genesis albums were but I have enjoyed my 1st play of the album this morning.
