What is this thread even about? I don't understand.

I'm surprised to see these so high up the list. I never had you down as a fan. I've been playing their first 3 a lot recently.
The 1st 4 albums are quite magnificent.
Pretty much everything Mike Scott has done is very good and beyond.

Been having a Marillion day today.
Their albums have definitely grown on me since FEAR registered with me. They often seem to amble along quite pleasantly for a while without doing much then suddenly BAM, up pops a track that knocks yer socks off.

Never heard of them but was intrigued enough by the cover (yes I judge albums by their cover ) to check it out on youtube and enjoyed it. My initial reaction was it sounds like North Atlantic Oscillation and that's no bad thing at all. More psychedelic than NAO though

Their albums do have a tendency to grow on you but there are a few that have done nothing for me despite playing them a few times in the hope something clicks. Happiness is the Road and Somewhere Else have both completely failed to win me over and, frankly, bore me to death. I like the new one though.

I like a bit of prog metal from time to time and the involvement of Big Big Train's hugely talented Nick D'Virgilio was enough to tempt me to try this "supergroup" from 10 years ago.
It is what it is but I've rather enjoyed this.

Name rang a bell so I did a search on here but no results. Looked at their albums, recognised the cover to Ta Det Lugnt so looked up my scrobbling history and Last FM indicates I played the album 3 times in May 2015. Can't believe I don't remember it more clearly (slightly worrying!) and that I didn't post it up on here but the search facility often doesn't seem to work properly.... (I always try to post the artist and album title so that search facility can trace something - maybe I didn't on that occasion.)
Anyway, my waffle over - thanks for reminding me about them because I'm playing this again now and it's jolly good. Heavy and psychedelic.
