A. For the Candi Staton.
You see, there are still faint glimmers of civilization left in this barbaric slaughterhouse that was once known as humanity. Indeed that's what we provide in our own modest, humble, insignificant... oh, fuck it.

Re: BCB CUP 2017 - Round 1 Match 12
Both list filled with artists I'm familiar with. But I liked A a lot more than I expected to (they found good Killing Joke and Pulp tracks in particular, not an easy thing to do) and liked B a lot less (almost every song is a sub-par choice for the band, other than the Longryders, who are a sub-par band doing a limp version of a great song).

. Got Jimi's autograph after the show and went on to see him several times that year

Good lists!
A has everything I need for a party, altho' I daren't click on the Ben Folds link.
B is mostly good but that's one of my least-favourite Fabs' songs. And there's a kind of 'solid, old' feeling to the list which is a touch off-putting.

As spectacularly unoriginal as it is, List A doesn't suck.
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

A tie chock full of names, but I think I prefer the list of A to the list of B but it was a close thing.

'cause there isn't that with A?
I put A on a cassette for a friend when I was 17 (thought I probably switched Ben Folds out for some Autechre or something). I heard B at a high street coffee shop the other day.
A I suppose. But that's not really an endorsement.

A is the first list that I've liked more than one or two songs on. Honestly, I'm disliking about 90% of what I'm hearing, overall. Never have I been more at odds with BCB.
And being familiar with certain material isn't a bad thing. If I like it, I like it.
B is good too.

A is (probably on purpose) a throwback. Unfortunately one of the songs they had to rehash was fucking "Teardrop.

Nice title. Thanks to those gentle, yearning souls who voted for my list. I've played in the Cup in the past and have tried to please the crowd, but I realize now that, as Ricky Nelson once said, "You can't please everyone, so you got to please yourself."
And as some other guy said, "Whoever has ears, let them hear."
