I thought there was a more up to date tattoo thread on here but I can't find it- maybe it's dropped off the page.
My hesitancy with tattoos was always knowing that I would always feel the same way about whatever it was I had a tattoo of.
I've been mulling one over since January, but keep changing my mind about what I want. I don't think I can commit till I know for sure.
We were at Austin City Limits festival over the weekend and I saw about 2 tattoos I liked. But then that is the point - they are personal to you and it's only you that they need to appeal to. But oh lord - there was a whole lot of stuff to dissuade rather than encourage me.

It’s pretty much a standard boy meets wizard, boy rescues princess, boy blows up planet sized battle station, boy learns magical powers, boy fights father, father chops hand off, boy retreats, boy fights father again, boy kills father, boys saves the galaxy family saga thing but with an incestuous undercurrent

Whatcha want to know 'bout getting a tattoo, luv?
Social media is terrific for making you aware of the skills and specialties of particular artists.
There's a variety of styles. Do you like the look of traditional tattoos? Are you interested in photorealism? Color? Black & grey? Look at some of the names in your area, scope the work on Instagram.
Going rate for many quality artists these days is $150 hr and up. Some will price the piece in advance and how long it takes is how long it takes.
I'm a huge fan of tattoo conventions because I get access to artists from other places who do work I admire.

Just wear funky clothes.
They can also be donned and discarded at will.

I always fancied get a smaller Māori type tattoo. But let's face, it looks shit unless you're actually Maori, and a bit of a hard looking bastard.

David Lee Roth was on Rogan the other day promoting his new line of tattoo protection products. Might want to put a little cash into his company too.

Is David Lee Roth the Estée Lauder of Tattoos?
