Re: Game of Thrones
I dunno, maybe I'm just a bit meh about the Daenerys storyline as a whole. It's done fuck all for ages so they'd better deliver this season with it.
It is bubbling nicely though.

Re: Game of Thrones
Given that there has been a lot of press publicity about Ian McShane's appearance and that he has been criticised for letting it slip that his character will bring someone (obviously not John Snow) back from the dead, who do you think it will be? My guess would be The Hound who we last saw dying but not dead at the end of Season 4

I know, poor Hodor! The way the writers turned his story back in on itself was pure genius on the writer's part though. As was the lengthy scene involving Anya watching her story as told by Richard E Grant's band of strolling players.

All I could think of was Eddie Murphy as Buckwheat going "Ho de do! Ho de do!"

I didn't actually realise it was Grant because I was distracted by the presence of Kevin Eldon, which must rank as one of the most bizarre casting decisions yet. Either him or the bloke from Dr Feelgood.

Re: Game of Thrones
The writers are definitely having a laugh with all this "chosen one" nonsense. It's such a hoary fantasy cliche that even "Galavant" had fun with the concept in its last season. There certainly can't be three chosen ones. That means the real hero is going to turn out to be...I don't know. Podrick, Hotpie, maybe Nymeria for all we know.

Re: Game of Thrones
That was the best episode I've seen in some time. Everything is coming to a head now....
Honestly, I just can't believe how well done this show is.

I dunno, I think the dragon effects are still a bit naff.
Still, pretty much every plotline has had a big jolt in the last one or two episodes. Fun!

Re: Game of Thrones
There are more forces marshaled now at any time since season 2 at the height of the war of the five kings, and Littlefinger's a complete wildcard and Dany's practically a loose cannon, threatening to swoop in with her dragons and bloodthirsty barbarian horde and generally f__k stuff up.
Unless I missed it, this is the first episode this season in which there hasn't been a major character death.

Re: Game of Thrones
well it won't be long....
I wouldn't want to be Rickon. And then they went and took special pains this week to remind us of Edmure and Lord Tully's storyline and existence so I;m confident Lady Stoneheart may be making an appearance soon, and main character heads or at least Tully heads will certainly roll.
