Re: BCBowie Project Sign Up [Please Sticky]
Not a problem, Jim. Simon figured beginning of May, but we all knew that probably wasn't happening. Take yer time, make it sound good, and turn it in when you can (but preferably in the next couple of months).
I still have to tackle "Panic In Detroit" myself, so I'm delinquent as well.

You'd pay big bucks to know what you really think.

I really wanted to wait until they were all in and listen all at once but as that seems a very long way off I'm gonna start giving these a listen.
You come at the Queen, you best not miss.

Ghost of Harry Smith wrote:So I'm almost at the finish line with my cover of 'I Can't Give Everything', this is me on vocals and acoustic, my cousin Danny on most guitars, our pal Mark engineering and adding bits and pieces like cello, textures, cymbals etc. Feeb, I'll have a WAV file of the final mix to you by early next week (got to go away for a couple of days) but I wanted to share a Work in Progress with you guys 'cause it's the best recording I've ever been part of and I'm feeling pretty chuffed. Thanks loads for organising this tribute project and giving me a reason to get off my arse and do some proper work in a studio for the first time in my life. I know this cover has smoothed off some of the edges of the original but we tried to capture what it felt like for us to hear Bowie had gone.

Jesus Christ Buddha!
Your Moonage Daydream was amazing!
What amazing voices all you bastards have!
And the Bowie love was strong in all of them.
Thank you!

Re: BCBowie Project Sign Up [Please Sticky]
It's okay to flake, Sam. It's certainly better to bow out now, than to string the project on and on... and then admit defeat anyway. So thanks. If anyone else needs to drop out, please feel free to do so. We'd like to wrap this up in the next month or so, for sure.
Finally, "Panic In Detroit" is finished. It was a much bigger pain-in-the-butt than the other two I did. I actually did a couple of aborted versions before I finally hit on a beat that I could live with. Anyhow it ended up being pretty rockin. It's in the Dropbox, or you can (temporarily) check it out at https://soundcloud.com/jetwelder/panic- ... owie-cover
