If I'm honest I'd spin A more. I did go looking for my old Urban Dance Squad cassette mind you.

A clearly has no fucks to give. I like the cut of their Cupicidal gib.

A... so now I finally have to use the word "sheesh". B is spotty, but in a likable way. I enjoyed the Peter Gabriel, to my surprise.

Tough one. Really good Zappa and Siouxsie tracks on one, but B has Cheap Trick.

I think I'm going with...um...um....um.....

i like A, and i don't give a crap about the form, mwhaha. it has the tendency to pick some songs from the artists that would be lower on my list of priorities, even from the individual albums... but still, i like it.

however, i actually dig *every* song on B. so that's it, then.

B is perhaps a solider mix, but I like A's propensity to rock out. That makes it a more enjoyable listen.

A wins.

Ah, but that was just that compiler being sneaky, wasn't it?

But, yeah, it's gonna bug me. Maybe as much as knowing that I would have picked the source jam.

but, hell, if you're gonna go for the Dutch "hip-hop" vote, at least get the title right.
No matter, I voted for them anyhow.

Oh that's SO not nice, posting what you think is a better one.

No? I'm not trying to be mean.

Bah, it's The Cup! I think it's fair play.

I know you're not trying to be mean, but think about it. How many times do people say 'That's not the one I would choose from that artist/album'. If everyone started posting songs they like better, well, you can see how that could get out of hand.

It happened to me in the Country Cup, and it was.....I got pretty pissed off.

Maybe it's just me.

All the time!

OK, I won't do it again. I just really like both of those songs.

I hear ya. I've been tempted myself once or twice, but thought it would likely be in poor taste to usurp like that. Sorry.

But I'm not the rule-maker here. If everyone thinks it's a fine idea, so be it.

i''ve done the same thing in this very thread, but honestly, when i say such things, i don't mean them as any kinda insult or usurpitude. my intention anyway is more to say, "even though i may've picked another track from the album, i still like this artist and/or album pick." i figure bonding by artist and/or album is better than not bonding at all, ya know? better than pitching everything out with the bathwater.

but if it is taken as an insult, i will find a different way to phrase things. i don't aim to be a cup slice-n-dicer or an insult comic, if you know what i mean. there are others who do that sort of thing well. i just prefer to focus on what i like or connect with.
