Go on, make an old fish very happy. Skronk, squeal, honk, etc.
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

Where the hell's my copy of these gals' double retrospective CD? I haven't seen it in ages. What a band!

I've never heard that one before, but that's rather bloody good indeed. Including the whistling. Perhaps the sax isn't quite wild enough for this thread, but I'll overlook that on account of quality of tune.

I nearly added The Stooges as part of my additional post, but thought I might start getting cheesy American 80s soft-rock posted here if I opened the floodgates too wide. I'm not really thinking of it as rock n' roll sax, it's more jazz sax (preferably free-ish) blowing over a spiky post-punk number. Which is the veritable manna from heaven.

Everything on this album, though stylistically some of it is more jazz than post-punk.

Dunno how I didn't think of The Flying Luttenbachers. Blindingly obvious, really.

Anyway, since the Ethiopiques series has been mentioned recently, here's a collaboration of elder statesmen that fits the bill.
