Fucking hell, that was terrifying, even if I did have"the way is shut. It was made by those who are dead.." stuck in my head.

It's 2015, they've got a budget the size of Mexico, and they still can't make someone riding a CGI dragon look cool?

Still, this series is paying off big time now. I guess they knew that Stannis' big moment would piss people off, and didn't care. I felt a bit uneasy about it: was it really, really necessary to do that?

But I'm definitely watching next week.

:( Oh, but you knew they would..

Properly chilling when the Sons of the Harpy suddenly appeared all over the place.

Good to see Mark Gatiss again.

And that's part of the problem. Can't they let somethng go well for someone, for once? I suppose Jorah getting back into the Friendzone counts towards that...

I hope the season finale runs long, like last year's. I would love a full hour and a half mini-movie. There's so much stuff up in the air right now, including Dany, literally.

Additional dialogue I would have liked:

Tyrion: "Surely there's room for a little person such as I on that huge dragon?"
Dany: "You'll be fine. [Curly Howard impersonation] Woob woob woob!" [flies off]

Am I the only one who thinks this show keeps getting more and more ridiculous as it goes on? I'm still going to watch it - I mean, I've come this far, obviously - but c'mon, that white walker dude? He looked like Snow Miser from the old Rankin/Bass Christmas special:

And Dany on the dragon was right out of Neverending Story.

I'm going to pretend that last scene never happened, then next time round I can add six or seven minutes to every episode by inventing an extra storyline in my head.

I'm pretty gutted about the last scene, but kudos to George R R Martin for having the guts to do something like that. Whether or not it is final remains to be seen, but I suspect that they'd have a hard time keeping a secret like that whilst filming Season 6.

What the fuck happens in that is ANYONE'S guess though.

Most interesting fan speculation I've read about Jon Snow is that he becomes the Night's King.

So obvious that Myrcella received the kiss of death from Oberyn's widow. Other than that, most of the other major developments surprised me, though it was obvious that Olly was going to be a problem sooner or later. Boy, that Stannis sure knows how to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. I was hoping he would at least take out the Boltons. Loser. This will be the longest wait between seasons with so much up in the air.

I think given the repeated references that JS always comes back and the various people we've seen brought back from the dead in the last two series, I think it;s safe to say we've not seen the last of JS although, his stomach being rather delicate, he would do well to lay off spicy food from this point on

Literally the first thing I did after my morning ablutions was turn on the television and switch to the main HBO channel and skip up to the guide for 8:00 so I could read the episode summary.
