Give him 10 or 20 years. Maybe less. I'm not sure he'll be able to resist standing as an MP.

And don't forget that he is an unapologetic liar, who considers truth an inconvenience if it gets in the way of his message.

He's a bit of a preening know-it-all, but then so are all "media commentators". I'm more in agreement than disagreement with his views so I'm glad there's someone like him out there giving those views an airing in the mainstream media.
I don't know what he's been an unapologetic liar about, but maybe I've missed something.

I like him, though I do have a innate mistrust of people who are so convinced of their certainty, especially from such a young age. That probably is more a reflection on me though.

I'm the same.
He seems like his heart's in the right place, and he's obviously not stupid. And he'll grow into being less dogmatic and doctrinaire about things. I do admire his drive and passion, he cares, which is important.

Britain does need people like him - unafraid to take on the establishment despite being a bit inaccurate at times. The trad Labour voice has all but disappeared.

That is very generous. He is a liar. He revels in his dishonesty.
Apart from that I agree his is a voice that we need to hear. I think 90% of what he says is rubbish, but it needas to be said, and it needs to be heard, even if it has no basis in fact or economic reality. It is a shame that the one really passionate young voice the left have is so badly tarnished by his own hubris.

Given that it's a serious charge to level against anyone, can you provide examples? Chapter & verse please.

Re: Owen Jones
The best documented one, and the one that has been discussed on BCB often was his accusation that the Olympic games were costing 23 billion pounds, and were going to be a total failure. He was taken to task by the Mayor, who could prove the overall cost was £9.3 billion. Despite accepting his figures were fabricated, he said that the numbers were irrelevant, and his point was still a valid one. How you can make a point about the cost of something knowingly using inaccurate figures constitutes a lie.
He has been caught with his pants on fire on other occasions too, but has always insisted that his point was more important than the facts. A touch of the Tony Blair if you ask me...

He's one of the few high profile writers and commentators openly pushing a socialist alternative. He's eloquent and knowledgeable.
