Both have some highs and lows for me. It's hard to vote against that Mayfield monster, but the Heron and Can tracks are both long time faves too, and i'm liking A's mix a bit more.

Yep. I also like the Iggy, The Creation, and I don't think there's a version of "Tomorrow Never Knows" I wouldn't like.

But I have to vote A for The Phantom, Traffic, Heron, Goat, Hardy and Hendrix.

It's kinda depressing for a music forum to be proud of not knowing musicians.

And about bloody time. A vast improvement. A even manages to get away with playing the French card (why does everyone think this makes them somehow cool?) Nothing spectacular about FH but better than that old scrote Gainsbourg. Great Mayfield pick from B but the Buckley pick is a bit obvious and Rosie sounds like Joanna Newsom's mum.

Neither is massively exciting, but A shows more of what I want. B only chances its arm once, and the result - Rosie and the Originals - is just meh.

Fixed that for ya.

Honestly, a late doowop classic gets compared to the third-most annoying voice in the history of recorded music? Get out of here :D

I didn't mind it to be honest but it's no Earth Angel. T'was but a throwaway comment suggesting the voice was the real stumbling block for me. Actually I have quite a high tolerance to La Newsom though I can see how she may well grate on other ears. The real "fingernails on blackboard" voice for me is Iris DeMent, which of course begs the question (and you knew I was going to ask) If JN is third....

These two are near impossible to separate, but I am going for B for marginally more adventurous. Sorry A, love your list.
