From what I read in Prog Fanciers' Quarterly, Lisa has finally bitten the bullet and agreed to work with another man, her nephew, John (Joan) Zorn. Citing a repressed oral fixation, Yorick has taken up clarinet and Joan Zorn has agreed to dress in ladies' clothing for the duration of the sessions for a new progressive klezmer-rock album due this March called simply The Klezbians.

Could be seminal...!

They're back!

Ian Hammersmith-Yielding has teamed up again with Dick "Dickie" Dickson to get the old stratevarius out. You can't keep a good man down.

I thought he was going out as 'The Trolley' these days. Or am I thinking of Miffy Warburton?

Promising.

But what about Malerie? After she quit to start that ill-fated penguin farm I was sure we'd never hear a proper electric tuba solo again.

You've got to hear the isolated tracks, they're available on YouTube. These present-day electric tubists don't know shit!

I'd post a link but my computer won't let me.

It's strange this thread was bumped at the exact moment I heard about the death of Terry Tubbs-Barnet the other day. I don't know whether they can find another accordian player like him, although perhaps Ron Todd can do a job, especially now Michael Rodd's Symposium have split up. Mind you I'm sure I'm not the only one who doubts he can reach those atonal eighths, all the while as he balances a squirrell and sings a Cornish lullaby? It's a hard act to follow.

RIP Terry. :(

Yes, one of the great Cocks, indeed.

That is so sad. I really hoped this might be the year they got a quorum back together for a date at the Chumpton Festival.

Without wanting to be disrespectful, I was hoping Sterling's fascinating threads would be revived. Its a terrible shame it took the demise of Terry "the tuba" Tubbs-Barnet to bring it here. Many fans found the recent revelations of his unconventional domestic arrangements hard to accept, admittedly, as did the local authorities, but there was never any denying his way with a jazz brass. His legendary extemporisations at the Coatbridge free love festival of 1989 will forever lay claim to examples of the finest 'pure' french horn progressive house. It speaks volumes that his name is stilll only known to the cognoscenti. Long may he parp*.

* unless, of course, the allegations are true.

I'd wait.

Apparently there's a slew of re-issues appearing on Memmling Oudshoorn's 'Ox-Gobbler' offshoot label 'Parmesan Quilt'. I'm signing up for the lot especially as they include all the 'lost' 1962 Truncheon Club sessions (which I only have as a series of lino cuts).

Happy to share when they all arrive.

Never heard of these guys before! Strange, I just went into my local record store yesterday and asked them if they had Yorick's Cock, and I got the strangest looks. I guess they really aren't well known.
