E
Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

Fuckin' hell. I know one should be a good sport, but losing against a half-baked list such as this really hurts.

Cloth-eared gits, the lot of you (except Yves, Kaspar, Daddy Longlegs and - what a nice suprise - Nikki, obviously).

I mean, who in their eight mind would put 3 "Mother" songs in his first 10, among them the nadir of Gryphon's whole career - a Beatles cover that adds nothing but a handful of recorders to the original??? An unlistenable Cos track? The Apocalypso instead of the far superior Collapso? And later John McClaughlin (sic) and his pal Carlos in guru worship mode? Bloody Frankenstein???

Has anybody listened to the twin guitar tour-de-force by A.F.T.?
It blows Wishbone Ash clear out of the oven!
The Nick Mason track which is Carla Bley and Robert Wyatt playing at out-floyding the Floyd?
The lovely Fuchsia & Audience tracks?

No, it's gotta the Moody fuckin' Blues or Roy bleedin' Harper.

By the way, I would have gladly lost against Whodathunkit's list in round... in fact I abstained because I liked it so much.

Anyway, I'm not really bitter, I never got that far in the normal cup!

And in case anyone wants to know, here's what I had lined-up to get sunk by the canonizers in the finals. 8-)

Aksak Maboul - Vapona Not Glue youtube
The Greatest Show On Earth - Real Cool World youtube
White Noise - Your Hidden Dreams Yourtube
Débile Menthol - Très amusant, Major youtube
Kevin Gilbert - A Long Day's Life youtube

Enjoy!

Good point, Felix. Well made.

But your final five would've sucked.

Now that Lord Carlsson has received his just desserts in the final, it is clear that his dogmatic 'nothing after 74' stance has contributed to his defeat. His minor concession - a 2007 track from a Hawkwind splinter group - only compounded the error of his ways. Time to check some new(er) stuff I would say!

I even beat him with a Supertramp track!

So fess up...have people voted against C's list in the knowledge that it was him in the final and wanting him to fall flat on his face?
Surely not?

What I will fess to is the fact that I didn't have much time to spend to get to know most lists. I've been extremely busy in the weeks leading up to Christmas and hardly had any proper time to spend listening to tracks....and sometimes I even forgot about the vote. It was just not the right period of time as far as I was concerned. Nevertheless, the organisation was smooth and i want to thank NMB for organising this!

Also, in regards to tags- I wanted to tag my list with Youtube-links but got the Forbidden-signal when I tried to mail my list. I have no idea what set the alarm bells off but I had no choice but to hand over my list tag-less. Not that it mattered to you cloth-eared gimps anyway....

The whole charade has been a desperate and disheartening catastrophe. The idea that only contestants could vote was a disaster. The calculated and treacherous vote rigging in the final brings nothing but shame to our fraternity. Is it not time PB showed us his true colours? He is clearly another of Solarskopes aliasis. I am just glad I don't enter these competitions. This one, despite NMB's good intention, and excellent stewardship, has descended into farce. I am ashamed to be a goon.

I was thinking of going with that Aksak Maboul track as well! Good pick.

Not at all. A genuine vote for A from me although C's list was excellent.

I shamelessly went the ProgLite© route this year, appealing to the masses. I may have been the only one not to choose a King Crimson song! Last year I tried to stay away from the obvious, and got crucified. This year it worked.

I didn't choose a KC song either. What was your list last year?
