I hope I beat the deadline. I was thinking I'd cut My Sharona a break just this once and nominate this pile of puke instead.

I'm standing by Survivor - High On You.

Not only is it shite, it promotes the notion that intoxication is fun or desirable. Such irresponsible messages should be limited to awesome songs like Heroin or Speed Rules OK.

Am I too late to say 'Mull of Kintyre' if everyone hasn't said it already?
The world was holding its breath waiting for me to post that, obviously......

Canada has so much to be proud of.

We affectionately called him 'Down Hill' - when he was remotely part of our consciousness.

I had forgotten Dan Hill was from Canada! Sorry Loki, I didn't mean to open any wounds. Honest!

I'm sure the fear will subside.

Too little too late, but how about these faux-Cockney disasters?

Stay Free - The Clash

Martin - Tom Robinson Band

No I hate it too, that was one of the things I wrote about when Young Turks froze my fucking computer like the cunt of a song it is.

I said that I couldn't believe a band so talented burst onto the scene with such an obscenely terrible tune. Then I told them how utterly fantastic a lot of their other stuff is, particularly this:

:D ...and here's me thinking that this piece of 'art' already had been nominated 20 times... not reading a thread does have its charms...

I think their worst song was that 'Cortina' one.
Sloopjohn B put it on a mix for me once. I still haven't forgiven him.

Stuff like 'Eye of the Tiger' is too obvious, it's the kind of thing we're meant to think is bad. But I agree with Polishgirl, it's actually pretty good at what it does. I'm sure many of us secretly find it quite rousing ( and I'd put 'Final Countdown' along with that too).

Bah, this came to mind too late:

Hmm is there where Queen ripped Radio Gaga off from...?

So bad it's good? Certainly where Add N To X got their whole schtik from :)
