Re: Pretty Boy Floyd R.I.P.
I can only echo what everyone here has said. As usual my thoughts and feelings are put into writing a lot better by others.
RIP Alistair, there might have been some as good, there wasn't any better. I can only hope his nearest and dearest are coping ok.
If there is a get-togther in Alistair's memory, I'd be honoured to attend.

All around us everything is blazing but our lips are ice...
Re: Pretty Boy Floyd R.I.P.
JKruppa just informed me about this thread and what happened........i'm upset cuz i can't remember what he and i had talked about.......i can remember his avatar and i know for sure that he and i have PMed a couple of times, but for the life of me, i can't remember what was said........this is bothering me very much....i can't find anything in my inbox or sent box......he recently changed his name to Tom Violence?........there's nothing that says that, either.......it was sometime last year, i know that.......i feel like i need to know what the contents of my exchanges with him were, that it's important.......this is a weird feeling....i don't like it....i hate that i get people mixed up in my mind a lot, especially if i'm not in regular contact with the community.....i tend to confuse details, and of course, it doesn't help that people change their screen names like they change their underwear.......i just know that any time we corresponded, it was pleasant and he was always courteous to me.....

I was just about to ask why he was online, too. Strange.

Whoever it is has now gone back offine - this is really odd.
I looked up their details and they seemed to have about the right post count too. Perhaps it's one of his friends or something. I feel like I've seen a ghost.
I'll pm Paul who can find out the details of who exactly was logging in.

It was definitely the same login, I looked too and the posting history was the same.

Could be his parents have received Jane's letter and are having a look at the site, and he left himself logged on at the computer?

I think Jane's letter reaching his parents is the most likely explanation.

Yes I'm sure. They were back on-line about a minute ago very briefly.

It would seem to make sense.
I wonder what they make of "shopping lists of loons".

Re: Pretty Boy Floyd R.I.P.
For those who may be confused this is Alastairs father, Alan. I dont know how the system works so my apologies if there is duplication. We received Janes kind and touching letter this morning and we are overcome by the correspondance we have read. Joy (mum) and Iain (brother) and I have struggled to come to terms with this tragedy but we are grateful for the 25 years Ali gave us. It is comforting to know he had so many friends on BCB. I have noticed donations on the Justgiving website and I thank you for those too. We will all miss him

I think Martha speaks for all of us, Alan. Thank you for coming to visit us.
Re: Pretty Boy Floyd R.I.P.
I've bumped the York jolly up thread so Ali's parents may...if they wish...go and see the great night we had together.
Just go to the jolly up section...click on North East jolly York 15th March and it's from page 11 onwards.
It was Mick's birthday (the lad in the string vest) it was the best jolly up I've ever attended...and I'm not just saying that...we were there all day and we even got a free round of drinks off the owners of the pub...the photographs reflect how close we all are.
