I'll definitely do Saturday. Maybe Sunday. I've gotten permission from the boss lady to do both, but I don't know if I have the energy to play a doubleheader.

Dave, I'll most likely hook up with you, which we can discuss in the meantime, and then figure out how to hook up with Baron and Minnie.

Where's everybody staying in the city?

I figured, but I thought Baron's cousin might hook you up if they had the space.

The reason I was asking was kinda selfish because it's a lot easier to get out of the city the back way down Lincoln Ave. where Miguel's cousin lives than from around the Marina. But, no worries.

We don't have to go there, but I propose Frankie's Bohemian Cafe on Divisadero. They have good beer and good food---vegetarian stuff too. But anywhere's good. I'm not fish-friendly, but other than that, can put anything down my gullet.

Plenty of stuff to eat at HSB too - I seem to remember returning to the falafel stall at least three times over the course of a four hour period!

Now I know that was just gyro juice you were licking off your fingers. My friend Kevin thought you were really friendly. I stuck up for you and told him you weren't that friendly, but I kinda wondered.

Bad joke, sorry.

I don't know what they call that whitish yogurt stuff they put in gyros and falafels.

This is my own personal preference, but after a day of twangin' and fiddlin', I'd like to go elsewhere to eat and have a couple drinks.

Of course, I'll be there on the fourth.

Actually, I might could make it Sunday....

Sharon Jones is playing Sunday. In all likelihood, all probably only make it Saturday. That's when my falafel juice is at its freshest. It loses its "tang" by Sunday.

Ah, fuck's sake.
Do Sunday, man, and I'll try to get in to town early...

OK, we're up for the food/drinks gathering afterward, but Carolyn will not be joining us during the day Saturday. Being that she's not insane like me, she can only handle one entire day, and with no offense to the company (who she'll see in the evening anyway) the Sunday line up is more her speed.

I don't know why HSB hasn't put the times of acts down on their site yet, but the Chronicle did today, although not as nicely as HSB does

Oh, and for Anna, even though Patti Smith is playing Sunday, Exene of X is playing Saturday, so you can catch a prime punk poetess if you're inclined.

By the way, next weekend is looking to be a beaut. As Anna knows, September through early October is probably the nicest time of the year here. It's supposed to continue in the 90s through Wednesday and then cool off a bit for the weekend, but not bad, I suspect. If you thought May was nice, I'd say wait 'til this weekend and it should be even nicer.

Six String, Slangking, any word of your attendance? Would be fabulous to see you. And Eric, wherefore art thou?

I probably won't make the shows, as I'm arriving at like 5pm Sunday, but if y'all are getting together after, I'd love to meet up.

Though I have a big interview the next day so I'll be drinking at half-capacity.

I'm staying right near the opera, unsurprisingly.

I think I'm highly doubtful to make any of the shows right now (Friday's out for sure) but if there's some way I can hook up with you guys, I will.

How long are you in town, Count?

For a post-college thing - shouldn't write the name, but I'll say it starts with "Teach" and ends with "For America," I had to go to an eight-hour group interview session. Me and another guy were convinced we had both bombed the morning session, and had three beers each at lunch - just enough to get us a bit tipsy. I think it relaxed us just the right amount, because we each returned for the afternoon session, and were both accepted to the program.

So, moral of the story - get shitfaced on Sunday night, and keep drinking through the interview - they'll love ya!
