Yep. The weekend of the 15th & 16th is not good for me, nor is the following likely to be good for most. But any other should be good.

I have nothing else to do...for the entire month.
I'll forgo the jam, though, unless there's a peanut butter option.

Although they haven't posted yet, I've heard from bixhenry, quaco and bobzilla77, and all are up for this. Seems the 8th is the preferred date, so I just changed the thread title to reflect that.

Just about any date is fine with me. December 8 is slightly better because there is still a possibility I will stay an extra day or two in Europe around the end of November/beginning of December. Fred might be having a session at his house on Dec. 1 !

So, yeah, Dec. 8 is probably better, just in case.

Just found out I have a gig on the 8th. Not that it'll keep me from making this, I presume the jam will be during the day and the JU stretch into the wee hours, so I can always split and show up again. Mind you if it works out for others to switch to the 9th that would be OK. But don't make any special arrangements on my behalf. (Insert "Angshu and the Americans" joke here)

"Stretching into the wee hours"? Like, 9pm?

If it gets too unwieldy to plan for a jam in the morning, we could just meet up for beers 'n stuff in the afternoon. (I changed the thread title again.)

I saw Willie today and he and I agreed that we really want to have a jam session. I think he might have something to do on the 8th as well, though. Could the 9th be better for all? Perhaps others could check in and say how likely they are to make it and when. But if the 8th is preferred, I'll be there for sure for at least part of it.

If it starts in the morning with a jam, then moves to a chosen watering hole, I'll stick around for as long as I can, go do my gig and come back. It won't be unwieldy at all, as it's pretty much what's seemed to have happened naturally the last few times. Jolly Ups usually seem to last a long time- sometimes people come and go, sometimes they stick around to the bitter end.

TG also told me he's likely in. And you said Bob was. Lots of musicians. How can we not have a jam?

Oh, and where are Matt Wilson, Goldwax, MSpektor, etc.? You folks coming?

If we have the JU on the 8th, I'm only good for the jam; I'm going to a friend's surprise b-day party that evening. So I would love a jam in the day if possible.

That would be great if everyone's okay with that.

The 8th or the 9th are both fine with me.

And either a jam or karaoke, whatever. I don't mind doing both. Saves me having to talk to you guys!

Since a few of you prefer the 9th, and the rest of us are fine with either day, let's do it on the 9th. Bob is unable to confirm that he'll be available due to other commitments which may or may not happen, but he'll let us know as soon as he gets the word.

Want a good laugh? My gig the 8th got cancelled.

I think the 9th's still better for Willie, though, and it's equally good for me, so I guess we should stick to it.

Hey, any visitors wanna come 'round? Les? John?

If I'm in town either day is good for me.
I just don't want to commit two months early, you know? I know how it breaks Michael's heart when he's there and I'm not so...

Oh wait, that's never happened.

TOP OF THE PAGE!!! WOO-HOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

Okay, it's still a ways away, but is everyone happy with the Cat & Fiddle in the afternoon, and that rehearsal space on Santa Monica Blvd. in the morning?

Bob said he's still not sure what his plans are yet, but he would definitely know one way or the other by the first week of December. So as for working out a set list, we could go ahead and pick out a few for now, but maybe hold off on who plays what until the week before the 9th. I like your drumming, Jim - in fact, I like it a lot - we finally did the video capture for the Syd trib, and watching it again reminded me of that. But if Bob's available, it would free you up to do other things, which I think you'd agree would be a good thing.

I haven't seriously drummed in years, and although I'd say I was pretty formidable in my day (and recent plays of those tapes reminded me of that, glad to say), I wouldn't recommend it nowadays except in case of emergency. I mean, I can still count and keep a steady beat, so it wouldn't actually suck or anything. But it wouldn't be all that great either. Just sayin', like.

I'm into it all. Bob's a great drummer. We can switch off or I don't mind playing other things all night. If Bob's there, maybe we can finally do "Sparks" or some killer Who. Somehow, we've avoided them so far (I think?). I'm also fine with the usual: Love, Grape, Beatles, Neil Young, or whatever it is we normally do!

Start a list!
