Anaheim / LA ... anyone around Sat 7th April?

Events people say they're coming to until a day or so before the event.

Absolutely horrendously horrendous, as in terrible. Christ I’m not looking forward to driving across town...

As I mentioned on Facebook, puts a whole new perspective on Oakland to San Francisco, doesn't it?

One's a cute bear cub and one's a grown up bear.

Driving a car with poor lights after dark down a 4 or 5 lane highway (101) with a headache and almost no petrol left with cars passing on both sides at 60 to 70 mph was one of the most terrifying things I’ve ever done.

And you probably hit that steep grade going down into San Luis Obispo too. That can be pretty exciting if you're not ready or used to it.
Don't fake the funk on a nasty dunk!

No worries if not, but Friday and Saturday appear to be out, so...

Really sorry Dave, but I can’t make it tonight.

Don’t recall that, but we did take Highway 154 I think it was to avoid 101 traffic. That was pretty hairy.... We missed out on PCH having spent too long at Hearst Castle and looking at elephant seals. Again, we gave ourselves too much to do in a single day.

That always happens on trips. You could get the PCH vibe if you go up towards Malibu. It's a nice way to get some sun and you get fewer and fewer people as you go up.

Jim,

Where would you say the "PCH" starts? Malibu before it goes inland or all the way to Ventura? Or even all the way to Santa Barbara? I'm asking you as a SoCal native.

From a NorCal guy, I'd say Malibu, but feel free to edify.

I think of it starting at the 10 Fwy. because that's the part I drive on the most, the first couple miles. There is a nice beach and running path just a couple miles up. We make it up to Malibu fairly often too when going to El Matador.

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow at the pub.

I hope to get there by opening time at 11am.

I will be wearing a Blue Oyster Cult tee shirt and khaki jacket, in case the place is packed with tall thin English men who need a hair cut.

Having a great time with Jim and Heidi, but fear we are about to fall out over Steven Wilson! Send help!

We all decided Steven Wilson is infinitely preferable to Matt Wilson, so we're in agreement there.

Many thanks to Jim, Heidi, Matt and Tom for coming out at the weekend and saving me from Disneyland. It was great to see you and experience a proper English pub complete with unpredictable and possibly drunk waitress. Photos were taken but are more likely to end up on Facebook.

Yes, ever since Photobucket turned into a pay site, I don't know where to house photos any more.

Great time. After saying our goodbyes, we met up with Matt for another beer up at the NEW Cat and Fiddle on Highland. The waiter there was excellent, just so much less neurotic than we had at the Olde Ship!

TG, there are a couple tracks with olde drum machines on Todd Rundgren's Todd album. Just heard them last night and thought of you.

A wise choice, if I do say so myself. No one needs that many Gentle Giant LPs.

That’s right. I’d forgotten about those. Thanks.
