The Blue Posts don't do food on the weekend - and SS pubs' food is usually standard not-great pub fare.
But you are a three minute walk away from Goodge Street, Charlotte St or Soho where there is everything you could possibly want to eat
Their beers are an acquired taste but there are plenty of different ones.
They used to serve the worst wines in London. Now its only in the bottom 50%.
I usually drink wine but always drank beer there because the wine was so bad.
This has changed.
I've never drunk shorts in one so I can't say

Should be there 4-ish.

Outside chance that Mrs The Driver will also be in attendance.

Judging from your avatar, you have put on a few pounds.

I'm planning on going now. Would have liked an alternative to the Blue Posts personally, but it'll do.

Should be there by 4.30.
It was raining when we drove up the two-lane highway through the long tunnel of trees that led into the black district on the south end of St. Martinville.

So all ready for the London Jolly... get lift to Didcot Train Station. Buy railcard for £30. Go to walk off... "When's the next fast train mate?". "1432.... outside R3... bus to Maidenhead, train from there". "Umm... don't you think it may have been a good idea to tell me that before I buy the TRAIN ticket?". "I can give you a refund". "Good, please do so". So sorry guys and gals I won't be seeing you in London today. I'm sure you'll have a good old laugh at my expense (I'm certain that I would if roles were reversed) and have a couple for me. Must remember to check train schedules next time.
