I'd love to make it but I'm actually going the opposite direction! I'll be home in the UK, I do get back on the 13th but then there's the inevitable jetlag and shitshow at work to contend with

Manitoba's (Avenue B between 6th and 7th St) is on old favorite.
Another idea is the Tile Bar on the corner of 1st Ave and 7th St. I would say it has less atmosphere, and it's pretty small, but maybe a little better beer on tap. Both are reasonable, price wise, with good jukeboxes.

I kinda like Double Down as well, if you want something really divey. Manitoba's is great, but I've lost a bit of love for it 'cause Dick can be a bit of a Dick ha.
I also like D.B.A, and Burp Castle is fun for a drink or two but not much more... you could always do a crawl!
If you like coffee, get a drip from Abraco, it just might be my favourite thing in the world -
