A startling revelation in the den! Copehead announces that he is firmly detached from reality with yet more half-baked and frankly astoundingly off-the-wall theories. Can Copehead lure the BCBers back in with a new angle on his proposal?

I have never heard of either of these bands and I am the world's foremost music producer and label owner. That, however, doesn't matter at all because the expounded theory that chart positions are indeed the true and only divining rod of talent is absolutely spot on. Frankly, you people are so dim that I am not at all amazed that only a genius of my level can see that this Copehead chap is talking utter sense.
Take the example of
Unchained Melody.
Righteous Brothers 0.92 million copies sold in the UK
Gareth Gates 1.34 million copies sold in the UK
Robson & Jerome 1.84 million copies sold in the UK

In fact, even the Jimmy Young 78rpm version of the song (that means it is speeded up to sound like a Pinky & Perky cut for those who aren't in the music biz) probably outsold those Yanks. A lot of this can, of course, be put down the talent of mastermind behind the various recordings, The Righteous Brothers having to put up with dreary old Phil Spector and his understated backing arrangements and the latter two acts having the good fortune to deal with a rather more capable svengali and his world famous picket fence of noise.

But remember folks, the clapometer is just a bit of fun. We've seen that local favourites Supergrass have just pipped our returning champion the Muscle Man and Tom O'Connor the cheery Liverpudlian comedian, but it's rilly all down to you. So vote now on a postcard or sealed down envelope for your favourite to Associated TV, Teddington Lock, London Town....

Hey guys! KEN ENGLISH here. Has anyone seen Charles Watson lately? I was meant to be meeting him to watch the game and sink a few Buds, but can't get hold of him. I hope he hasn't got stuck in Tijuana again, like that time back in '96!

"well I love the Manics, especially the first two albums and that white Les Paul Custom of James' is well tasty. But Supergrass have no grasp of the concept of dialectical materialism and its application to socialism... "

A man who dreads trials and difficulties cannot become a revolutionary. If he is to become a revolutionary with an indomitable fighting spirit, he must be tempered in the arduous struggle from his youth. As the saying goes, early training means more than late earning.

Anyway, Supergrass are bestest group ever. If they ever tour North Korea, I promise not to have them kidnapped. I cannot say the same for The Manic Street Preachers.

I'm, like, the greatest singer songwriter of the last five years at the very leastest. Not one of my stupendous masterpieces of dazzling cleverness has ever even crawled into like, the top fifty, and I am , like, cleverer and more pretty than most. So I add my whiny ninny voice to the dissenters who wave their hankies at Copehead and say woooohooo, you're wrong, because basically, Copehead, you are.
You come at the Queen, you best not miss.

"Hey there folks, it's Don Henley of trillion selling stadium kings The Eagles here. I've been lurking for a while - even multi millionaire musicians like myself need somewhere to pass away the time whilst on the tour bus - and I'd just like to throw my considerable weight (lest we forget Hotel California and The Eagles Greatest Hits are two of the best selling records in American HISTORY motherfuckers so stick that in your bong and suck on it King Feeb you cunt) behind Copehead here. Sometimes the public know what the fuck they are talking about you elitist fucks. Anyway, keep on truckin'....."

Wotcher. This is Snivelling Sid from Snivelling Sid & The Snots and we've released 142 LPs since 1978 and not one of the fuckers has ever come anywhere near the fucking charts even though they're the best fucking records what have ever been made in the history of the fucking world so I don't know what the fuck Don fucking Henley is on about? What does he know? He's a cunt. Having a record in the chart means you're the best fucking band in the world? We're the best fucking band in the world and don't you fucking forget it! The Eagles? Fuck off! You don't know what the fuck you're talking about.

Some goddamn Limey claims he was selling parrots in a market in London, Englandshire when he was eight! Lemme tell ya something, buddy - I was building skyscrapers and casinos when I was six! I was divorced twice before I turned nine. I made and lost a million by the time I was 11. And who the hell are Supergrass and Manic Street Preachers, anyway? Some goddam Limey faggots I guess. I wouldn't hire anyone who likes goddamn faggots.

This is the most awesome thread ever.

Wait. It's only 16 pages so far. We'll have to see if it beats the Charlie Harper thread. And the pics of selves threads - they're pretty long. Oh, and the Treasury of Mirth ones. What are they? Like, a fucken hundred pages, aren't they?

Well ...

Maybe this isn't the most awesome thread ever. But, it could be!

I was just thinking how a perfectly good thread about why MSP are logically better than Supergrass has been ruined.

Anyone interested in my idea for heating houses by talking to DD and Yompy about politics?
