As for you, that's a bit hypocritical given that it's only a year or so ago that you led a sustained hijack of Mojo to have a go at McKendrick, Spenny and their ilk.

Neither one thing nor t'other. Totally unrelated and almost entirely untrue. I responded to an attack and kicked their unworthy arses. I didn't "lead" a witch hunt, in fact I didn't "lead" anything because I'm quite capable of taking on a full community of Mojo ming-mongs single handed.

You're a card, Oscar. You kicked no one's arse.

RCL! You're a prick and a snob. Think i might turn up at this jolly up after all.

I've not read the responses to my using that phrase but I absolutely meant it and am quite aware of its connotations. 'Spenny' was one of the reasons I left Mojo a few years ago. My encounters with his winking, twitching Manc macho tat go back some years. He might like to paint himself as a 'bit of a lad' but he's a lout, a sexist and a dimwit. I don't want him posting here.

I'm quite happy with all our other louts, sexists and dimwits.

Is that clear enough?

You really have revealed yourself to be a petty, elitist moron with them comments, RCL.

Anyone who has met me, or got to know me, from Mojo will tell you that i'm neither a lout, sexist or a dimwit. Do you know me? I don't know you, nor particularly want to. I'm sorry i contributed to you leaving Mojo, but you certainly weren't missed, whoever you are.

As for your other comment as for my thanks for the PM's being a "ruse". Why can't you just take things at face value? It was a genuine thank you aimed at the several posters who wished not to be associated with your or Betty's comments.

It's not him, although it does sound a lot like him. It's the ginger actor who once played a mechanic in Corrie ( his daughter took a wrench to his head in Kevin Webster's garage and killed him.)
I've heard Stuart Maconie express his annoyance that people think it's him a few times.

It was a fucking joke. This places pisses me off sometimes - everything is so serious! Maybe I misjudged the mood - so what, life goes on for us...

Anyway, hopefully this is duly ignored.

It was the sort of provocative gag I'd make.

As was mentioned earlier it is amazingly ironic how, on a thread about people's reactions to a (poor) joke there have been further over-reaction to other (poor) jokes, so much so that Betty has decided not to attend a JU.
I didn't mean to scare Betty off. I don't know Betty or spenny, I'm not taking sides with anyone here.

Sitting at home, in tears, too intimidated to go to something I was looking forward to.

Is this what everyone wanted? This man coming to Manchester to confront me?

Unbelievable.

You're actually scared of coming to Manchester because you fear i may attack you or something? That is so insulting.

Betty, you have my word that i will be about 8 miles from Ancoats, where the pub is, on the night of the jolly up. Honest. Now please go and enjoy yourself.

This is a desperate ploy I've seen so often before - if you had supporters other than Baxter and a few barmy free-speechers, they'd say so here wouldn't they? I'm not feeling self-righteous or indignant - I just think you are a piece of shit - your posts here and at Mojo have revealed you to be a sexist and thuggish moron - and I don't want you posting here.

I think I'm correct in thinking that the above is a much more nasty and thuggish post than anything Spenny's ever been guilty of.
As you seem to know so much about me, you should know, and I'm sure that Spenny and any other Mojo posters who know me will confirm, that I'll stick up for Spenny and anyone else if I think they are right, and I'll call Spenny and anyone else, to task if I think they are wrong.
A brief history of this thread from my point of view:
The facts about the 'phone calls and fall out, I'm sure everyone knows as much as they want to.
Spenny referred to Sach's granddaughter, who dresses like, and in selling her story to the media, acts like a slapper, as a slapper.
Betty takes umbrage and launches a personal attack on Spenny.
Smamfy lauches an attack on Spenny.
Spenny retaliates.
Things escalate.
The next day Spenny apologises for any drink induced boorish behaviour.
Betty refuses to let it go.
RCL makes a spectacular arse of himself.
Betty still refuses to let it go.
Spenny responds with barbed wit.
Betty still refuses to let it go.
RCL confirms that he is a world class arsehole and a snob to boot.

If you feel intimidated that's a shame - but, trust me, Betty, you are over reacting.

I say we sack Spenny and ban RcL from posting for three months. I'll deliver a full report to the BCB trust on Nov 20th.
I apologise for this breach of trust that the BCB public expect from us.

See my post above, Betty. I was genuinely toying with the idea of going for a drink or two as i know for a fact that if you met me, you would realise i'm not how you imagine. No confrontation, just a chance for me to try and redeem myself, and maybe for you to do the same.

I promise i will not be anywhere near the area on that night, and as i said, i like 8 miles from there.

Sorry if you felt intimidated, that was not my intention.

I think you should all go. I have forgotten the amount of times that deadly board enemies have turned up at jolly-ups or mini-meets in real life and departed as the best of friends once their real personalities and tones are out in the open (the written word being so open to misinterpretation). In fact I can think of only one person since the Mojo days who turned up at one and it didn't work out and even then there was no actual nastiness on the day and no one was intimidated or unhappy. And we have all learned to tolerate Griff now anyway.
