I'm sorry to hear this, especially as you were so considerate with them too.

Idiots.

I doubt it'll help but I can't be the only one around here who looks forward to your BCB contributions. Your good humour and compassion shines through every word you post. I hope things get better soon G, you deserve it.

Don't despair, G. Are you able to do supply work still?

And of course, as clive says, you are a pleasure to know, if it is of any comfort.

I hope so!
I'm not sure how much work is out there. I'll have to really have a go at it next week. I don't like supply and working with all these diiferent agencies, but I'm stuck with it for now.

I think Clive speaks for all of us, G. Well, most of us. Some of us? A few of us, certainly. Me, at least. Probably.

Seriously, chin up and better luck to you, man.

Hey G - my wife is going through the same thing - doors that were open for ages have sort of been inexplicably glued shut, and every time we have any sort of financial shortfall, I can tell that she internalizes it (in a way that she shouldn't and I wish she wouldn't). No one wants to feel professionally "locked out", and...I can only say my sympathy and support (and optimism - easy for me to say, of course) come from a place of considerable understanding.

Thank you, all.

Just got back from the Florida trip we were supposed to take in December, but had to cancel. While I was away, I had a friend staying here for a few days. One nite the cops came banging on the door, and freaked her out. They were looking for me to tell me something. After talking long distance to 2 different police detachments, they finally told me that my brother had died that day (June 3rd).

I kinda feel like I've been knocked back to square one, almost. I was starting to feel better; stronger.....

2015 has really sucked the big one for my family. I'm trying to be positive tho, and learn from it. I think I'm appreciating life more these days, incredibly. It's something we should never take for granted.

Thanx so much, guys.

Joe would have turned 54 on August 1st. He was a radio DJ, comedian, and hedonist. Everything to excess - smoking, toking, drinking, gourmet food.....he loved it all and lived hard.

His common-law wife came home and found him on the floor. Turns out his 3 main arteries were quite blocked. We don't know if he knew and didn't tell us or what. One was 80% blocked.

Get your hearts checked, people - esp. those older folks here.
