Coan has a "type", doesn't he?

Okay, I've just read this and there's NO reason why this isn't in Classic Threads yet.

I blame the clique. I know Coan acts like a foreigner sometimes, but that's no reason to keep him out.

It's a great thread!

I can't believe it was a year ago. One of my favourite threads ever. I was still reasonably new to BCB then and my posting hadn't got sloppy. I'm quite proud of this one.

I had assumed it was in Classics.

Should be a classic thread, if just for this...

Yeah it's a great read, just for the various people getting hot under the collar. Great work by the Yomp.

Yes I was

EDIT: Now I've been to the UK I don't get the problem with Marks and Spencer, besides the fact they sell that dark liquid they call cola instead of Coke in their food halls.

The clothes are as conservative as it gets. To accuse someone who thinks they're cool of shopping at M&S can get them rather annoyed. But they do it!

I can't believe the voting. Well actually I can :(

Britney should have 10 times the votes of PJ.

How many people voting have actually listened to them both?

me. I forced myself to listen to both of their then current disks just so I could fling my feces around with my chest puffed out and my head held high!
I thought the Britney was much much harder to stick with than the PJ and that's really saying something.

I've never listened to PJ Harvey myself.

I know the answer's Britney though.

Still, will the BCB spirit of 07 ever BCB return?

There's a lot of mileage in these 'X vs Y' threads. It's a very good framework. Someone just needs to think of one that captures our imagination and we're up and running again.

Unfortunately there's a common belief that such match-ups are pointless. It's beyond some people that completely different things can (and should) be pitted against one another.

Or this idiot idea that we should leave canon acts well alone 'cos they're 'talked out' and we have nothing left to say about them - that's another one you find increasingly trotted out.

If we had it to do all over again, we'd probably do it differently, but:

There are even some bands here we don't talk about nearly enough.
