Oh, what the fuck.

Look - it's like doping, right? You can all do it.

Bump yr favourite threads. Why not? The good ones will stay, the ones that folk are bored with will sink.

Fuck this. We need this place livened up a bit.

Let's see it as a competition, if you like. See what survives.

Go for it. I'm bored.

I was wondering why you seemed to be bumping some of your own old threads like you were giving yourself a reach-around.

easily their best, behind new adventures.

OOT is ok, but i agree with nuch of what is posted already, near wild heaven, low, tex and country feedback are all classiscs, as is losing my religion, but the others's i couldn't care less about.

document is also one of my favourites...

An utterly superb albums which for me contains the following standouts:

Losing My Religion - hearing this 1000 times hasn't dulled it at all for me

Low - beautifully atmospheric and controlled, sinister, haunting track

Near Wild Heaven - pure pop perfection, my fav REm song

Half a World Away - fantastically melancholy, the video is also brilliant

Country Feedback - as above

It's my favourite REM album. THe only song which spoils it in any way for me is 'Radio Song'. I've never really agreed with the hostility towards 'Shiny Happy People'. And even the tracks I haven't mentioned are awesome. 8-)

meh....

it's another case where the album in question is objectively good, but is overshadowed by so much of their other work.

for me the main problem is that despite some great tracks it doesn't work as an album, not it the way that new adventures, or monster, or green, or document do.

and since my favourite REM tracks of all time are pretty persuasion, perfect circle and fall on me i'd always favour the IRS albums over any of these.
