Quaco,

In the first photograph in this thread you look uncannily like Harry Nilsson. We all know what happened to him, so straighten up and fly right, ok?

And I mean soonish.
I could be wrong. I usually am.

Happy Birthday Quaco! You're one of my favorite posters on the board.
Your notes are always worth reading and I appreciate the skill and thought you put into them. I'm hoping we can arrange a visit for you and Lady Quaco to come up north in the spring.

We all know Jim is among the most thoughtful, intelligent, and entertaining members of this community.

Far more salient in my eyes is his place in my life as one of my favorite people in real life.

I see him often, but not nearly often enough.

Happy Birthday, Jim.

Dear Quaco -
it sit here trepidating at the office and still working at almost 1 AM. So perhaps you understand that this, together with moving, prevented me to offer a well thought-out contribution to the Fredmeister. But Neverknows certainly broke some world records here. And thanks to all who could write in something decent.
Happy birthday, man!

You are all so kind. It really meant a lot to me to see everyone here today. Obviously, Fred organized the most wonderful present for me -- probably the most thoughtful thing anyone's ever given anyone here on this board -- and I was truly moved by the gesture and by everyone's various contributions (yes even griff's).

It still is strange to know so many people and be emotionally connected to you, even while often not knowing some really basic things like hair color and first names. Internet friendship is a new thing, just being developed in the last decade or so (??), so it's still strange. But I am super-happy to be enjoying this new type of friendship with such a great bunch of people. I defy anyone to find a better group anywhere else on the Internet! (Please post a link if you find one. There are too bloody many top fives here.)

Actually, I kind of like them. And I used to deplore such front-page clutter. I must be getting old and sentimental.

No seriously, I love you guys.

See?
