If you think about this one ---> Image, yes it is a good one but since it's been out of print unfortunately I can't buy it any longer.I had a quick look inside of it a few years back at one of my far relatives but couldn't make it to read it properly. Yes,I have noticed that there was one on Ebay recently but as some people(die-hard Sisters fans like myself) are "greedy" when they bid, it always escapes me.Bad luck. (Mick Mercer contributed some great pictures for "The Dark Reign Of Gothic Rock" book BTW.) As for the Heartland Fan mags, I've heard they were good efforts for the time already but can't find them anywhere at all.Which would mean even more Ebay checkings.

For pop culture, I would recommend the Faber Book of Pop, edited by Hanif Kureshi and Jon Savage. It's just a collection of piles of articles going back over the last 50 years or so, some on pop starts, some on fashion, some just on culture. Fantastic coffee table book.

In a similar vein, Nick Kent's collection the Dark Stuff contains fantastic articles from Kent's career as a top music journalist.

Currently reading The return Of The Last Gang In Town by Marcus Grey. An excellent Clash biog. They were a fucking shower of smelly hippies before they re-wrote their history, a disclosure on a par with Lennon killing Stu Sutcliffe to some I spose
I've been talking about writing a book - 25 years of TEFL - for a few years now. I've got it in me.
