I really like Tame Impala so I've been listening to that Melody Prochet album, I'm not 100% sure about the quality of all the songs but the sounds are amazing! Weirdly though I haven't really listened to the new Tame Impala album much, might sort that out tonight.

I listened to this last night and I liked it. I'm not familiar enough with the original (beyond its use in adverts etc) to hear what Richter has done to it. Any clues?

According to Richter himself, he has stripped out about 75% of the notes to leave it more minimalistic/modern classical. I really like it too, but I suspect some purists will be apoplectic!

It's only a 7-song mini-album, but really happy that Half Cousin are back:

I have been listening to alt-J's album, "An Awesome Wave", all day and I am surprised it hasn't been mentioned here yet. I think it's wonderful, and I fear making any comparisons to anyone, because it has been done to death in plenty of other reviews.

I've been listening to it for a few months now and I'm still not sure. There's enough to make me keep coming back but it also lacks something.

Fascinating.

Whatever he's done Winter 3 is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've heard for some time.

Yep, got the Moon Duo too- with bonus disc! Completely spacing out to High Over Blue- 21 minutes long!

Tame Impala takes a little to sink in- I actually like the Melody's Echo Chamber-album a bit better.

I got that Tame Impala one yesterday and really liked it straight off. I kept meaning to check it out and while I was in teh record shop yesterday, I liked the record that was playing. You can probably guess the rest.

I also picked up the new Godspeed one, but haven't been able to play it yet as my wife's recovering from quite a nasty operation and, after 10 minutes of the Godpseed album she started to feel rather ill so I had to take it off  I'll get the headphones out in a bit ;)

The new Ty Segall sounds pretty great so far! I liked his last album but it was probably a bit too heavy to completely agree with me, this is more garagey again, but still heavy in bits. Mad fuzz bass all over the place. And the songs are mental. Yeah!
