A
.
Horace Silver - Songs For My Father - ACE
The Jam - Funeral Pyre - One of the worst Jam songs
Peter Perrett - Take Me Home - God that was dreadful.
Lou Reed - My Old Man - Meh
George Michael - Father Figure - Hurrah, some proper, well-produced pop music.
A Certain Ratio - Knife Slits Water - tired of ACR in recent years but I still love this one.
Billy Cobham - Stratus - YES. Great album.
Laibach - Vor Sonnen-Aufgang - Anyone who chooses Laibach in the Cup deserves a thumbs up even if it's overblown nonsense.

B

Stereolab - Pack Yr Romantic Mind - Oh
Joe Bataan - Subway Joe - Liked that, but not enough to explore.
Bush Tetras - You Can't Be Funky - A bit lumpen.
Cymande - The Message - BOOF
Pixies - Manta Ray - Not heard this. Never a huge Pixies fan. Passed me by a bit.
Julie Driscoll, Brian Auger and the Trinity - Indian Rope Man - Love a bit of Brian Auger.
Willie Hobbs - Yes, My Goodness, Yes - More obscure soul
E.T. Randy's All-Stars - Ordinary Version Chapter 3 - Nice Dub

A is wonky. I like that. However it had at least 3 clunkers. B, well apart from the Cymande, nothing really grabbed me. It's nice and very BCB, but I'm not really that interested in any of it.

So,A, which might grow a bit more.

A is wildly uneven for me and has Laibach, which is dead boring B wins for me but close.

Not for me, Clive.
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

A is a cracking list. I clicked on the Laibach with great trepidation but I really liked it.

Very close, but...

A;14 B:12

Another past winner falls out the first hurdle. B was Count Machuki. Sorry CG.

Three tracks from A please.
