The John McLaughlin track was just too showboaty for me. I have nothing against showboating but it needs to be married to something a little more interesting than this.

The Man track was full of interesting and twists and turns and all the elements worked together to make a very agreeable whole. An easy winner here,

I've liked some things I've heard by each of these folks before, but neither of these is floating my boat at the moment. Instrumental showoffiness with no other purpose (i.e. not attached to anything like a song or underlying theme or something) usually doesn't.

I guess B ducks into some corners at least, but it sure takes its time about it.

B was new to me and was most impressed, great track and I love John McLaughlin, but not a great track for me.

A tough choice in the first match I love both bands/albums/tracks

What a great guitarist Johnny Mc is - loads of notes! I love it

Buddy Miles on tubs

Then there's the Welsh lads - Man - awesome

Today it's Micky Jones and the boys

B

A was a strange choice a rather boring piece by John McLaughlin.

A is mind bending psychedelic jazz fusion, possibly a room emptier for some.

I would have chosen A against most but not against the mighty Man.

A- John McLaughlin is my second favorite guitarist and always loved this album. Last contest I went with this Shakti song which funny I just saw they are using the beginning in a T Mobile commercial.

B- Man nice choice of song here.

interesting here I think I'll take B on the fact of song selection. Not this has nothing to do with the idea that John is showboating that is a load of crap, fusion is his style and personally no one does it better.

Both very enjoyable. Apologies to whoever submitted A, because I know the last thing people want to hear is "I thought yours was great but I'm still picking the other one."

A has a good sound, but B is the more interesting tune.

I never thought I would live to see Johnny Mc get slaughtered like this

Enjoyed both immensely.

Almost swayed to give McLaughlin a pity vote but integrity wins out.

Balls to integrity. I'm going with the sympathy vote. Mind you, I'm not keen on either.

I love the Mclaughlin and think it is the best thing he has done - and entirely different career path might he have taken. However, I think that track works better on the album than taken in isolation.

Man I love more each day.

As I grow older, I've come to consider McLaughlin's virtuosic noodlings a rather unpleasant experience.

B is a good, if minor Man track.
