A is a bit formal - it's not like anyone needs to encourage RG to be any more of a diva - but her voice is still gorgeous and still cuts through.

As for B, read previous comments on similar performances. Sounds great, but they have no affinity for the song whatsoever.

I'm a sucker for a drop of banjo me.

Lovely voice too. Not the sort of thing I listen to but very pleasant and enjoyable

B is pleasant enough but not a match winner I would suggest

So, A has it

A has it

Oooh, two artists I like.

Both good i their way, but the Searchers track is more Merseybeat than folk, I would say.

Never heard of either of A before, but this is a nicely trad take, the initial austerity of the sound is lovely, it would've done better to maintain that sparse accompaniment in my view, didn't need the piano chords, even if they're not exactly intrusive. But either way, it's a good performance, and a good pick.

My mum once served Mike Pinder in the Ormskirk branch of Woolworths when he was at the height of his fame. I don't believe she told him that he was the singer of a second-rate Merseybeat band, and that she preferred folk songs, but she should've done. Hopefully this track will win despite it being cack, because I've lost to two non-folk tracks already, and its about time someone else had that problem.

"second" is correct, but not as in "second-rate", but as in "second best"

A was terrific. B was passable Mersey beat and seemed to have strolled into the wrong competition.

B must be Googamooga's, right?

I love Giddens straightforward style a lot. Here, she manages to transcend this played-to-death tune - and the wonderful accordion solo halfway through makes it even better. A resounding A

Yeah, A. Stark yet pretty. B is too much of a stretch, and not interesting enough.

She's done better, like the Cariolina Chosolate drops I voted for in round 1. This is a bit worthy", but much as I like THe searchers at times B is unforgiveable

As a founder member of the Jackie deShannon admiration society, the Searchers can fuck right off, thieving Scouse gets that they are.

Fortunately, A has a reasonable voice and some nice banjo
