B is for the youngsters that haven't heard the real thing.

[I thought I was listening to Throwing Muses]

Even the best DC can't touch The Strawbs at their finest

B is interesting but isn't terribly prog. A is great on every level but is a bit predictable. (Coincidentally, both use the same riff- Strawbs at the beginning, the bees at the end!)

I guess there's something to be said for the fact that I've never tired of A.

It would very hypocritical of me to dismiss A as an obvious choice as I've picked it myself previously :D . It is a great track with plenty of longevity as I never tire of hearing that atmospheric intro.

B plodded a bit and never really engaged me except for some nice atmospheric guitar in the instrumental break.

It would take a swarm of something very special to beat the magic of the Strawbs, obvious as their track is. Persephone's Bees, hard as I combed through their sweet offering didn't have it.

B of course. Its modern and a tad more exciting than the hoary old Strawbs hornswaggle.

Totally fucking A, one of the Strawbs' high points.

It's a good tie, this...both track ticking all the boxes but the Strawbs just has a longevity that takes the prize.

Persephone's Bees have a nice sound and this is a nice indie song. Liked the end guitar work

The vote is A Strawbs epic.

A's a fine track as far as this Strawbs era goes, but like much of mid-70s Strawbs I can't shake off the slight whiff of DC/AOR pap that seems to emanate from this either, particularly during the last three or so minutes. I vastly prefer their folkier years myself. Still fine though, one of the better (if perhaps also better-established) picks of the period.

Yeah, B's not for me. Not terrible but doesn't do a whole lot to grab me. A

I quite enjoyed B but it drags on a bit.
