I've always thought of Split Enz as a "new wave" band, but that track from their early days is properly prog. Just goes to prove Rick Wakeman's claim that all bands have a bit of prog in them.

I've heard better by Wallenstein, but that seemed to be a bit prog by numbers.

Nothing to say about Split Enz. I never got them

As for Wallenstein - one of the great 70s German bands.

Funnily enough, I was going to select a track from Mother Universe to submit myself. Great minds think alike and I think I know who the other mind is.

Anyway, bouncebouncebounce in abundance and shed-loads of ooofness

I probably wouldn't have selected this track from the angle but it is robust enough to get my vote

Not sure if A is prog or not, but I sure do like it. The Celtic influence was the best thing about Split Enz, Crowded House is the band whose appeal has largely eluded me.

B takes off a bit once the vocals come in, but by then it's already lost me.

I raised an eyebrow when I saw Spit Enz but that was actually quite proggy and nothing like what I was expecting at all.

B was ok but was largely unexciting and run of the mill.

Split Enz was better than I expected, quite enjoyable, but not as much as Wallenstein.

Neat match! A was not what I expected to hear from the pick and it was a pleasant surprise. Unlike Uriah Heep this *was* evocative of that quasi-medieval, possibly fantasy setting. Not that I paid particular concentration to the lyrics, but still. I'll go ahead and say I prefer the stuff I've heard from Wallenstein's debut record to this, but this isn't bad either, there's a nice drive to it, at least through the opening jam. Hmm... Might go with A for bringing something more unexpected to the table.

Never thought of Enz in this context! Worked out well!
Wallenstein is however a different proposal.
