A- Never got the love for 80's Costello. slowed down Costello with nothing special in the lyric department.

B- nice enough catchy song. Nothing special but good enough here

Interesting that there’s not a huge amount of love here - these are both top notch examples of their kind to me. Thats a tremendous example of EC’s lyrical dexterity and way with a tune when it felt natural and not forced. And the breezy WP’s pick is a high point of the cleaned up post-C86 indie of the later part of the decade. I find it hard to pick, to be honest.

A is so intimate you can almost hear the spittle on the mic, B is indie looking for chart action, but falling short of expectations. A
