If A was a "Real" pick, a counceling session is in order...Vote B by default...

Unclear on which is the "punishment" pick here. Both are so heavily laced with coke that they make my nose tingle. Palmer may be the better singer, but A is a much better song, and at least has some kitsch value. B just makes me sad. I keep expecting Palmer to keel over any minute (as he of course would soon enough).

I actually think I'm going to have to abstain

Edit: actually, A is more fun :o

A sweaty, lumpy, totally ill-conceived track ..and that's just B.
I've always hated B, it's about as elegant as a pumped up, steroid addled bouncer performing ballet on ice.
A is rubbish too of course, but at least it's a decent song.

B is... weird. Like hatz says, it just oozes cocaine and yet it has this kind of robotic grip somehow.

Anyway A is there because someone couldn't get their list in, so B.

Is A actually that bad? I think there've been a few worse songs in this cup. Sure the production is an over the top throw the kitchen sink affair, but there's a certain charm and energy to it. You get the feeling the session musicians were pretty good.

Watching Robert Palmer trying to mime is a hypnotic thing, I almost forgot I was meant to be judging the track. Which is a very average kind of Level 42 type thing, just without the geeky keyboard player who can sing better. I'm finding it hard to separate these, they're both lacking any kind of emotion or artistry, it's like trying to pick your favourite newspaper by how well it holds some fish and chips.

Abstain.
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

Bruce Willis can fuck right off the horrible smug twat.
B. Yeah its shite but at least it captures the true spirit of the 80s. Useless muso boingy backing tracks with a drug-addled goon attempting to croon in a vaguely sinister way. Risible.

lucky, lucky B

Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

B. I'd have to exceptionally love a forfeit pick to vote for it, luckily for me A is sung by Bruce fucking Willis. And I enjoy B anyway, even if there's at least half a dozen Palmer songs id have picked first.

Robert Palmer always looks like he's looking for some change he's just dropped on the floor. He's not an artist I have a great deal of interest in but he's done a few decent songs but this wasn't one of them. Better than A though.

Both are pretty terrible, but for the sake of not abstaining, B's the better track.
